I predict that Cyborg will sign on for a title fight at 135 and then miss weight by a several pounds. Then she'll forfeit a chunk of money to Ronda Rousey for a non-title fight.

I've always felt like 140 is the most likely weight for this fight. I do believe that they will try to make the fight at 135 but if that can't be done the potential payday for all parties will dictate that this fight happens.

If it's 140 then the fight will be held off until Ronda is ready to move on with her life

 

If Rousey doesn't want to do it, she doesn't have to. Rousey holds all the cards; title, popularity, better wins etc.

Cyborg can either bend to whatever Rousey wants, or the fight can not happen. Sherdog will be mad, but Rousey will still be loved.

I'd hardly consider what Dana said as him being open to a CW. He hedged his answer and in the end said a fight at 140 doesn't make sense. I'm guessing he hedged his answer at the time because he didn't know if WMMA would be successful in the UFC and wanted to keep a very small possibility open for a mega-fight as a last ditch money making grab before WMMA gets the boot.

However, WMMA was successful so there's no more hedging: make 135.

 

Cris will never submit to enhanced testing. Much safer to tweet from a distance, pass her fight night pee tests, and keep her arm attached.

 

Don't forget the most important thing MONEY. Ronda is a multimillionaire and Cyborg is broke. Ronda doesn't need Cyborg, Cyborg needs Ronda

I think they are starting to see/think that Ronda would smash Cyborg pretty handily..

Cyborg said she'd do Olympic testing to fight Honda

 

Cyborg has shown that talk is cheap.. she also said that she'll come to 135 and ronda wont have anywhere to run, then she said that 135 would kill her, then she said she can make 140 tomorrow, then she said its 145 or nothing, then 2 separate dietitians have said that she can easily make 135, then she said she is making 135

 

You could say the same for for Honda and UFC.

Talk is always cheap...but if you are going to act like Cyborg wouldn't do Olympic testing, then you might as well act like UFC wouldn't even do that fight at 135.

UFC and Honda have a hell of a lot more to lose than Cyborg does.

 

Thats nice except for the little fact that UFC signed Cyborg.. UFC aren't making some ludicrous demands to prevent the fight from happening.. all they want is for Cyborg to meet the exact same conditions that every other girl in UFC has to make

 

say this fight happens and Ronda tries just wading in, eating punches to get close...she's going to sleep. It'd be another case of HUGE buildup and even HUGER letdown. Hope she actually has some striking defense.

 

Signing Cyborg and letting Cyborg fight Honda aren't the same thing.

Honda is a cash cow from God right now.

Zuffa would be out of their goddamn minds to risk her losing a fight to Cyborg. Especially when Cyborg is a relative unknown to the casual public.

UFC won't let this fight happen for another year or two at least.

In the meantime, they'll keep plugging Cyborg and getting her name circulated in the media. They'll hype the shit out of this fight like Mayweather and Pac did by slinging mud back and forth.

They are promoting this fight boxing style and you are taking it hook line and sinker.
