The point is that Dana is a hypocrite and should be saying the same things about Jon Jones wanting to take a year off immediately after fighting Stipe Miocic, which was already 1.5 years of inactivity prior to that.

There's no way Jon doesn't have Dirt on Dana. It makes absolutely zero sense for Dana not to strip Jon considering how he's handled this kind of situation before. The funny thing is that GSP's hiatus was much more reasonable than what Jones is doing. GSP wasn't avoiding any particular opponent; he needed to step away, and he vacated the belt to do so. Jones is specifically avoiding a specific fighter while not vacating the belt.

Unlike Jones, GSP also didn't hold up the title picture for any length of time. Both times when he vacated (post-Hendricks at WW and post-Bisping at MW) he did so within about 30 days of the fights.
