Sources tell ESPN that White's new deal is for five years and for nine percent of the company's net profits. The deal also gives White incentive to further grow the business instead of having a locked-in salary. When reached on Tuesday, White declined comment.

Sources confirmed that White owned nine percent of the UFC, which would mean he'd be receiving roughly $360 million from the organization's recent $4 billion sale to agency WME-IMG when the deal closes. It was not immediately known if White is retaining any percentage of the new company.

Figuring out what the business actually nets after all expenses is an inexact science, but based on a ballpark estimate of what other entertainment businesses net after costs, the UFC's bottom line could be in the $200 million range. That would make White's yearly take about $18 million to start.

For comparison's sake, Goodell averaged $21 million a year in compensation for his first 10 years as commissioner.

I don't like the guy but good for him I guess.

He seems to work a lot harder and be much more integral to the success of the organization than the NFL commissioner.

Gonna be snowing 365 days a year on Dana's street.

LOL not nearly as much as Goodell Castro. Dude made 30-40 million last year for doing nothing but bitching about Brady's balls.

And you say this based on what exactly?

Dana "Fucking" White

This is the American dream ladies and gentleman!

The NFL has 32 owners. They take care of the contract negotiations, hirings, facility maintenance, local promotions, uniform design, and much of the player discipline. The NFL commissioner is more an arbiter between players and owners and puts out the occasional fire. Dana has to do everything those NFL owners would do plus the commissioner role as well, not to mention a much heavier travel schedule around the world.

I was asking for fun, I know what Goodell does. Think you are over rating Dana tho. Doubt he puts in that much work these days.

I wonder what percentage of that 200m is going to the athletes.

Net profits would be after fighter salaries are paid, so zero percent.

As an executive, it's impossible to gauge how much he actually does vice how much he delegates. In the end though, even what he delegates he has to review from time to time whereas the NFL commissioner doesn't have that same sort of delegate checking responsibility with the NFL owners.

Yeah like I posted he made anywhere between 30-40 million for last year. Dana's 18 is a drop in the bucket.

Well, I think it's still more than most if not all of the leading executives in all the other big sports except the NFL. Which is ironic, because Dana claimed the UFC was bigger than the NFL.

And besides that he's getting $360 million for his shares in Zuffa and that's taxed at long-term capital gains rate so he only has to pay 15% and not 40% as if it was regular income.

He'll likely also get a percentage in the new company, although no idea how much, probably at least 5%. I don't think Dana will feel underpaid.
