  2. I don't think Nog looked that bad tbh. Closed the distance fairly well against a very tall guy that used his reach. Can't argue retirement tho. Wonder what his new gig will be?

I'm glad to so him retire but it's sad to see a legend go.

Certainly looked better than he did against Nelson.

    Dana playing Dad again.

You care about your fighters health so much why don't you pay them fair?

Nog should have retired after he fought Couture

I think its time. Nog has nothing left to prove.
I think he can do good work for ufc.

Sad, but everybody gets old sooner or later. What an awesome career and storied life Nog has had though. Great fighter and reportedly a really great human being all around.

because he wasn#t fighting nelson and it's not about how good or bad he looked at least not entirely it's about the fact that he has been taking inhuman amounts of damage to the brain and the rest of his body and has been almost blind on one eye for almost a decade

Glad to hear he's retiring. Guy's a legend, doesn't have anything to prove anymore and there's no reason for him to take any more punishment. Good on Dana for (hopefully) giving him something to do in the UFC as well. Could very well see him working with relations with Brazil somehow either as a talent scout or just somewhat of an ambassador. Whatever works for him.

If he wasn't a heavyweight I'd be against it as he still looked very capable to my untrained eye. The fact that HWs take so much damage makes me glad Nog won't be taking any more after the legendary bouts he's been in.

Don't think I've ever cheered for Nog in any of his big fights but massive respect for a true warrior and legend of the sport.

No one thought so after he had beaten Randy. Hell, almost everyone on here said Big Nog was back, he was taking the title from Brock and Cain had no way of winning.

Yes it is, but not as sad as seeing a legend stay in the game too long tanking beatings. Thanks Big Nog.

I didn't know Dana liked Big Nog as much as Hughes, Chuck, Forrest.

Yeah I have wanted him to retire for quite a while, no one wants to see older fighters getting relentlessly KOd until they become vegetables.

Honestly I would like it if Shogun retired. I love the man but his chin isn't there anymore and it has became harder watching his fights. Maybe it's b/c I'm still living in 2005 but it's like watching the end of Chucks career. You know it's only gonna get worse.

Edit: post sounds dramatic but I think most Shogun fans will agree. Shogun has earned his Mma royalty maybe It's time for him to retire imp.

Love how Dana always says " I don't want to see him fight anymore "... like that is the reason he should retire. Good job Daddy Dana.
