And tell Pena and Pennington to pound sand
I find it nearly impossible to think that any current BW can beat Kayla. She’s just so big and strong, and with her Judo accomplishments. She is just a real force, on several levels.
And I like that she was tested. It wasn’t the squash match, I expected. But, I found out she has solid 3 round cardio, for sure. Even at elevation in SLC.
But I don’t think she is fighting 3 round fights anymore in the UFC.
If she is next. Which is obviously how it should be. I think she beats Pena very easily. 50-44 kind of thing. But I don’t think Pena would make it to the final bell in a 5 round fight.
Kayla will likely be the champ for a while (even at 34, right now). Who is going to beat her? She might hold it until she retires, like Amanda. Being able to cut to BW was something I didn’t think she’d be able to do. I was wrong, and she’s done it twice in a row.
And it’s a huge advantage. As long as she can continue to make championship weight from here on out.
