I didn't know there was such a thing honestly. Sounds horrible tho, here are the symptoms that seem to fit:

  • Headaches, confusion and disorientation.
  • Nausea and vomiting.
  • Impaired mental state and psychotic symptoms, such as experiencing psychosis, delirium, inappropriate behavior, delusions and hallucinations. Sometimes these symptoms can also contribute to water intoxication because the person doesn’t realize what is happening to them and doesn’t seek help.
  • Muscle weakness, cramping, twitching, aches and fatigue.
  • Difficulty breathing.
  • Frequent urination.
  • Changes in blood pressure and irregular heartbeats.
  • Severe drowsiness, seizures, respiratory arrest, brain stem herniation, and coma.

So if it's true it is weight cut related, not brain damage. Looks to be just as dangerous tho.

weight cut related?

I am ignorant on this stuff, but isn't part of weight cutting REMOVING water from your body, not overloading on it?

Water loading is one of the first steps of weight cutting I think. Gotta put in to let out.

What the fuck did he do???

I think cutting weight involves drinking tons of water without eating much and then losing everything by sweating insanely. I'm just as ignorant but I'm pretty sure they drink tons of water before weight cutting.

It's a new tactic that is even better than weight cutting.

It's called Weight Watering

I would assume Max Holloway has a handle on water loading by now, but there are a lot of shady Discount Dolce’s out there that could’ve given him bad instructions.

If you don’t get the salt and electrolyte shit right, yes you could get “water poisoning”.

Getting rocked and concussed in sparring seems more likely though.

Better than the alternative of permanent brain damage due to sparring I guess.

All he had to do was take a piss

Dana is keen to steer the conversation away from the elephant in the room every chance that he gets.

He better be careful. This is a slippery slope to evil.
