.. after Barao's performance last night. He desperately tried to convince everyone that Baroa is the greatest ever and just jinxed him in the process. And he managed to discredit JJ, Aldo and Cain in the process.
 
Dana's a tool, but not for the reason you just listed.

He could not care less. He was just promoting.
 
He is just promoting in a more ridiculous way than ever before. He started mentioning stats which he has never done and the next defending champ is always the best P4P. And Rogan and Goldie seem to be supposed to repeat it all over again.
 
This made Dana look like an ultra dumbass especially with all the nonsense he's been saying about Barao the last few weeks.

Don't you realise he only has a limited number of things he can say to hype a fight? He doesn't need to be right, his job is mainly to sell tickets.
 
It's hilarious how quickly and sharply he turns.

Win a few fights and suddenly you're a big, big deal in that division, hell, maybe even in useless p4p talk.

Lose one and you're a can.
 
Saying Barao is amazing and having him lose is not bad. It just means TJ was that much more amazing. It's not like Dana was saying bad shit about TJ before hand. They talk the contenders up as well. So a great Barao got beat by a greater Dillashaw.

Dana said Barao is still one of the best just TJ was that much more amazing.

That's Dana for you. Fighters go from worthless to the best to worthless in a blink of an eye with that guy. No wonder why the fans do the same thing.
 
Is that really what you took away from the fight last night? So many people are SO caught up in the backstage drama.
 
shit happens and the status quo changes. I had barao as one of the very very best fighters on earth (i honestly can't even sort out a p4p list in my head. it's too hard.... but i can name the top 5). he was unbeaten in 9 yrs and 35 fights. anybody who didn't have him as one of the very top p4p fighters is a complete idiot. sure, they have to sell fights, but they didn't overhype him.
 
make fun of Dana all you want he padded his bank acct last night ,and his fighters made minimum wage again .
