Dana is monetizing "debut patches" into collectible cards

Jon Jones, I choose you!

Your Jon Jones used DUCK

... It's super effective!

Fuck outta here with this bullshit man
They're collectible cards, not a playing game of cards lol i get it, the concept is still dumb and I collected cards as a kid but I am just saying, collectible cards don't have a game setup to be played with them. You have to makeup your own. These are pretty much to store away somewhere until you want to part with them or try to make money by buying and selling.

I feel like he's trying to appeal to the kids with the cards, but do kids even collect trading cards anymore? Legit question.

Anyway, I presume he's trying to get kids interested in the UFC, facilitating fighters and fans of the future. I just don't know a kid who gives a shit about trading cards anymore.
Dude, collecting cards got huge again during covid. I see videos all the time of kids trying to make deals at card shows with card dealers. I don't know of it being largely popular where I live either but seeing those card shows tells me that at least some states in the US are very much so into collecting cards.

Trading cards are still a huge business but I dont know how many kids can afford to still have that hobby, its more like influencers and crypto bros now

I’ll buy every pack I can find for that “Bane” debut patch broski’s

Dana gonna get his money on this one

I wasn't part of the free world during covid, my experience during that time was unlike basically everyone else's, so I had no idea this became a thing again. Thanks for the info

They were like $2/pack when I was a kid, bet they're $10 now

The basic idea is really good tbh, it's a way to add a ton of value to the collectible when a fighter moves up the ladder of their division

Like an Adesanya or Pereira debut patch would probably go for at least $1000 at this point and this value was completely uncaptured before. But now all packs of cards get added value from the possibility of containing that

But it's true that probably none of the money will go to the fighters so that's a bad side to this

Oh yeah ... really?

The only good that has come out of the UFC uniforms:

Giblert Melendez, Anderson Aldo inside jokes.

I learned the term "full kit wanker"

____________

Edit- is this a trading card thing? I thought it was uniforms.
Either way, not my scene.

Apologies if I have yucked your yum.

People clear the shelves of the hot cards as soon as theyre released and then resell the unopened packs online, a lot of times a store worker will have friends right there waiting to snatch up the entire shipment of cards as soon as they touch the shelf so they can maximize profits without anyone else getting a shot

Theres a pretty big card show here in my town and a few weeks back someone pulled up and did armed robberies of the card dealers as they were unpacking their cars on the morning of the show

This shit is serious, now days

Btw these debut patches are for Topps trading cards they recently had WrestleMania patches for all the wrestlers who wrestled that night.

So this is part of the fanatics and TKO deal

I got rid of my Marvel/DC/baseball cards from the late 89s/early 90s years ago. Idk if it's good that they can't pull up or rob me, bc they'll probably pull up and shoot me, instead

These will not be popular. Even in sports cards heyday there wasn't boxing cards. There isnt a sport that's played outside of a team where cards matter. He is fucking stupid and I hope Dana gets hit by a car

Card game is crazier than ever.

this card sells for 1.2k, Comes out of a 8 dollar booster pack, Problem is, you need to procure the card while it is still playable in meta for it to retain this value.
