Dana Explaining UFC Decision Behind Jones Cocaine Test

Maybe he didn't fail according to the books, but do YOU believe the books are right? Peds are NOT allowed outside of competition... do u really believe cocaine is not a ped? Or can't be used as one? That's a little crazy if u don't think so.

Do you know what a performance enhancing drug is? Think about that. A drug that enhances your performance. Think about cocaine for a second. Cocaine IS on the "fight time" PED list, just like a ton of stimulants are, but they are not anabolics, or "those" types of PEDs. Anabolics taken weeks before a fight can absolutely give you advantages fight time because of the additional muscle/endurance/recovery that they offer. The reason coke is not banned outside of fight time is that it has no lasting benefits if you take it a week prior to the fight. Cocaine CAN be a PED IF, and ONLY IF you are on the smack DURING the fight. If someone took coke weeks before a fight, and you think that it helps them in any way, shape or form on fight night, then it's a LOT crazy if you think so.

Easily Fighter conduct policy

I would completely agree with you if you are able to provide actual real information about the content of said fighter conduct policy. Until then, we have seen no basis for disciplinary action against Jon Jones. Is he a crackhead, and an idiot? Yup. Has he broken the rules of the UFC and/or the NSAC? Nope. Not one has been broken, as they have published right now. As a matter of fact, it looks like he has passed the CIR testing, which negates the "in question" t/e ratios.

Edit: Here is the conduct policy. Nothing in here states that Jones has to be disciplined for the coke...

This video is terrible.

It's just a bunch of things taken out of context, not to mention most of those clips were just plain misinterpreted by the maker of the video.

Not a blind Jones nut-hugger, or DC fanboy, but whoever made that video should really get the spin award. You take clips of Dana talking about what happens to fighters who test positive for banned substances and compare them to Dana talking about the Jones scenario, who, wait for it...........DID NOT test positive for a banned substance. Jones has not failed a single drug test that would cause the commission to stop a fight, postpone a fight, change the results of a fight, or anything else. Period. The UFC Can NOT strip a fighter's license to fight from an athletic commission. Period. The AC is the governing body. So, since Bones did not FAIL a single test, there was no reason to cancel anything.

In having said that, I don't know if the pre and post fight tests have came back yet, or not. If he hits for cocaine then, THEN we can rake Jones across the coals. Until then, STOP comparing someone pissing hot for a substance that is NOT a failure in out of competition times to fighters who have tested positive for the same, or similar drugs IN competition testing. It's not that hard, sherdog.

That's not true at all. The clip is about Dana talking about how the UFC goes above and beyond what the athletic commissions. He literally states this, and then says they test for things like weed and coke, and it's not fair to give someone $130k, who didn't follow the rules, and not his opponent who did follow the rules.

If your "watching comprehension" is that bad, I'd hate to see your reading comprehension.

Dana is a clown. He was useful when noone was watchin MMA pre-TUF and they needed a boisterous clown to get people interested. At this point, however, he is too immature and unprofessional to advance the sport.

Of course he is a hypocrite. He just makes up answers that sound good to questions in the short term. He is not the kind of person who can think long term.

I agree in part. People are confusion illegal by law with illegal in the sport. However, the weed - coke thing is tripping Dana up in a big way.

they do test for weed and coke. in competition. that is the testing rules. he never said they test for those things out of competition. healy failed his test. jones did not.

weed and coke are both not tested out of comp, and both tested in comp. it's not tripping up dana. it's tripping up the "fans" who want something to complain about.
