Dana DENIES releasing Wanderlei Silva from the UFC, says he was misinterpreted

of course he is. Dana doesnt want him joining Bellator

the people have spoken.

and they have said "War Wand."

Wand is still a big name and still owns wins over somewhat relevant UFC MWs in Cung Le and Bisping. I doubt DFW will cut him that easily especially on the heels of Bellator's 100+k ppv buys.

This is a really good point, the UFC can't let him go, because a rematch with Rampage or Tito would sell and would be a big deal for Belator.

They are just going to let the commission handle it which they should.

Wandy will have a hearing to explain himself. I honestly think they'll license him. He hasn't had any problems in the past and as long as he is polite, he can explain the misunderstanding, apply, get tested and that will be that.

For people saying Wandy can just go to Bellator or that they UFC can't release him because he'll go to the competition, it's just not accurate.

Wandy would still have to get a license in those promotions. If Nevada denies him of his license or there is some controversy floating around, no other state is going to license him either. He has to get this sorted out with Nevada period or his fight career is over.

Dana doesn't think so good when he speaks. Perhaps a slight backtrack.

Ok Senszo, if we assume he wont be able to get licensed and go to bellator, their are still other competing organizations not based in the US. And whether you like it or not, hes a huge draw and their are big fights to be made with Wand in other organizations.

Its not smart from a business perspective to cut wand. It would be smarter to slowly feed him fights until hes 40 and retires.

Not true. Fighters are denied a license in one jurisdiction but allowed to fight elsewhere all the time. For example, after Barnett failed a drug test and couldn't get licensed in California (scuttling his planned bout with Fedor), he was able to get licensed in Texas and Ohio before later clearing his issues up with California.

If any promotion is holding fights then they need a license and are bound by the rules of the state's commission. If Wandy was released it wouldn't change anything. He can't fight until he resolves his issue with Nevada.

This is a very similar situation to Overeem where he ran from his test. At least with Wandy he has pretty good excuse that he couldn't read the contract and wanted his lawyer. I think they'll buy that excuse and give him a chance to apply and get tested.

Chael loses against Rashad and receives a title shot. Where does he explain the logic with this?

Belfort via KO

He's not getting a title shot. It's a contenders bout. He's being put in the ring with the OLD LION. If he wins, how can you say that he hasn't earned it?

Keep in mind: Jacare is injured

This is highly looked down upon. Texas is the rogue state when it comes to athletic commissions. Guys have been able to get a license there after getting popped for steroids. They've cut down on it lately though and there is general understanding that if a guy is having license problems in one state, the other states will take that into account.

More like Lorenzo told him to

SHUT THE FUCK UP

What is weird is Dana seems to be implying that Wand's UFC career is contingent on being able to be licensed by the NSAC. They run shows in Brazil all the time. Why does it matter whether the NSAC licenses him or not?

If the NSAC bans him, the UFC won't let him fight in Brazil either. Not for their company.

Miscommunication, but Wanderlei should have been cut.

The UFC is trying to show Bellator how F'in up is done on the highest level.

Miscommunication, but Wanderlei should have been cut.

What should have been done when Chael tested positive following UFC 117? Or when Overeem fled the scene after the UFC 146 pre-fight presser, when NSAC officials were approaching all fighters for tests?
