Media Dana confirms Jon Jones retired

If Tom smokes Gane fast no reason he can't fight again within couple of months if he wants. Can see him fighting 4 times in a year if he keeps smashing people.
This is what I am hoping for, and I think he can do it. He shouldn't need anything more than a short camp, and I'm sure there's a challenger wanting PPV points.

The UFC having to bring in outside talent because he's already ran the top 10 is just marketing gold for the UFC if they finally decide to push the guy. He'll toe the company line, which will be a refreshing change atop the HW division.

How the negotiations actually went:

He will probably claim he is still the true LHW champ, and try to come back and fight the 205 Champion (especially if Pereira regains the belt in the future).
Shit I hope so love to see that one. I hate jon but im watching every fight he is in

Said he called him last night

Per UFC Baku post fight press conference

The look on Dana’s face after he was glazing Jones nonstop for 2 years and promising just a couple of weeks ago that the fight was definitely happening. <lmao>

Given Jones’ hints about behind-the-scenes issues at the UFC, I figured they were stalling to lock in a new TV deal. Turns out Jon was just wasting everyone’s time including Tom’s.

If he absolutely wrecks everyone it will 100% have him in the conversation. Won't be his fault nobody could compete. Obviously he has ro actually do that first.
Won't be his fault but right the HW division is full of a bunch of guys he has wins over and none of them have HOF resumes.. Tom needed the Jones fight.

I mean this is UFC's fault for letting it go so long. Jones has basically said the same thing since immediately after the Stipe fight. UFC had a chance to convince him or move on and they wasted their time or low balled him. What a shame.

Let's get Aspinall vs Poatan before Alex ages out. I think it's a gimme fight but at least it'll generate some buzz and could have a historic outcome.

I don't think there's any fight at HW where Tom isn't a heavy favorite, at least until we see his unknowns tested.

SO...how long do you think this thread can go? 50 pages? 75? Could it even hit the legendary (gasp) 100 page barrier???
