It is simple though. Fighters sign longer contracts because they want job security. They’re choosing job security over the ability to renegotiate more frequently. They also choose longer contracts because they aren’t confident in their value, so locking in for 5-7 fights at their current value is the safer option. Then they win a couple of fights after signing a long contract and try to renegotiate. You can’t have it both ways.

“Additional compensation and expenses” is not their salary. Their salary is locked in. Try again.

Lol at trying to renegotiate for more pay when there's no gates at the cards anymore.

I mean if anyone analyzed it without love or favoritism for the fighter it is pretty obvious that waiting until Tony gets picked as your opponent to start demanding more when you havent in the past isnt the greatest look. Maybe he already had that planned but I definitely understand why people may cry foul over that

my friend, it is I who am truly glad that you understand how contracts work otherwise I would have been done here, but you seem to know. So you know. And you know Dustin should sign the contract for the ammount he and the ufc agreed upon that he is worth.

mans hingsight is a helluva drug. Less than 5 years ago Dustin got put to sleep by MJ lol.

She should knock out O‘ Malley first and then she can remunerate her official contract before signing a multi fight deal the way it should be done which Dustin and @Beherit dont seem to grasp.

You're not telling me anything I don't know. My point is that they're chronically underpaid and have fuck all negotiating power. I didn't expect those negotiations to go any other way. I simply want to see fighters paid their worth.

Hell I would not be surprised if dana was offering less here off of a win then his Hooker fight, because it's not a main event.

You said it wasn’t simple, when it is. The UFC is currently getting zero gate revenue and fighters haven’t had to take a decrease in pay. Virtually every industry is currently seeing massive layoffs and wage decreases, either directly through wage cuts, or indirectly through hour cuts. The UFC is doing a great job at keeping their people employed without seeing cut backs, but I guess that isn’t enough for some people.

Just not true. Lots of bars ain't paying for the fights now either. The place I go to always got UFC fights. Now not so much. Once in a while. They're sucking eggs. Dustin should have taken the fight. He might get offered less next time for not being a company man like Cowboy, who is fighting again Saturday. You're a fighter. It's a JOB. You are not Madonna or Cardi B.

Serious question. Does UFC get ad revenue? Cash from commercials? Sponsors on the cage? I wonder how well UFC's numbers are with fights happening literally every weekend. They must be doing ok. All these "no name" fighters can't be costing much. Not trying to be snarky, just genuinely curious
