At the 232 presser he was asked why Aldo is not the main at UFC FN 2/2/19.
He said he wanted Aldo to main, but Aldo did not want to fight 5 rounds.

I find that interesting & respect a veteran being honest about things like that.

Aldo is wasting the last years of his career in a division he won’t ever win the title in again. Should have moved to 155 A LONG TIME AGO.

Hes smart, Moicano would beat him if it went the distance in a 5 rounder for sure. I think Moicano wins the fight either way tho.

IDK
I just think the honesty at this late point in his career is refreshing & smart

I don't see a problem with having a 3 round ME especially when its not PPV or a title on the line. But the UFC deosn't like to do it.

He was hinting at retirement even before Conor came along.

It's been a long career - dude deserves to take it easier in his twilight years.

Looks like he has no title ambition at this point, can’t blame him...he won’t ever get another shot at Holloway.

Fans bitched about big fights being only 3 & main's being only 3

I get both sides

Yeah because the current 155 title scene isn’t the biggest shark tank in MMA history or anything

He was never gonna win the belt at 155 either...???

Well his entire UFC career has been 5 round training camps.

Those take an incredible toll on your body.

Aldo is in the backend of his career and it's good he knows his limits.

Not to say he's anywhere near done or washed up. He's capable of beating anyone at the weightclass who isn't champ, even ortega imo. But he's at that stage of his career where he needs to pick his fight, make good money and be smart.

Still a great fighter but not quite what he used to be.

What for exactly? To waste his last years fighting bigger men in a division he will never win a title in?

5 rounds is a lot. For most fighters...

Aldo gonna whoop that ass in a 3 rder.
