Dont know why anyone would want to do broadcast work. Most of them get the axe for seemingly minor reasons. Cosell famously quit boxing but got canned from his football gig for calling a player a monkey. SAL Marciano, barry tompkins,ferdie Pacheco, and the boxer announcers get fired too once there popularity wanes. For whatever reason larry merchant made it some kind of record by actually retiring.
