So here in NZ we are in lockdown because of another covid outbreak
A couple of weeks ago Dan's training camp got broken up because they where breaking lockdown rules.
Since then hes been training by himself at home. Not the greatest prep for a fight that he really needs to win to get back into the mix.

Also because of covid, its been super hard to get a Visa. Last night weren't even sure Dan could make it over. Would actually have been a blessing in disguise if he couldn't as his fight prep hasn't been the best obviously.

    https://mmajunkie.usatoday.com/2021...icly-requests-visa-approval-covid-19-lockdown

However this morning with Visa approved, he announced a fn crazy timeline he is on to ensure he makes this fight.

    - Fly out Thursday night (cut weight on the plane)
    - Arrive Vegas Friday morning and weigh in
    - Fight Saturday

New Zealand to Vega is a 16 hour flight and a NZ is on a 19 hour time difference.

So yeah, he's gonna be up against it.

Replace all the covids you said with government. They are to blame for all you’re going through not covid

hmm, is just our strategy when we have an outbreak. It enables us to live normally the rest of the time. We don't half ass things.

    This doesn't sound good
Did Dan Hooker any give built-in excuses in the past?

lol do you think a guy going to these lengths to get to vegas for his fight makes excuses.

We’re too free for a lockdown in the USA. We tried it once, I’ve never seen more people at the local camp grounds in my life.

Sometimes doing something crazy like that could put you in the right mindset though. If everything is perfect leading up to the competition, you have no excuse and all the pressure is on you. This might take the pressure off.

your government locked you down so hard that you have no immunity and they’re terrified to unlock because your first outbreak is coming as soon as they do.
Maybe you guys like it but it looks horrendous, I hope you get free soon

Its not about what i think but he doesn't have many other choices either
Dan didn't like not having a good Camp nor his City KickBoxing crew in his corner and said he don't want to fight without them anymore
And since he can't afford them on his own, he need to schedule his fights for when they are avaible on the card too

Here’s New Zealand in January 2021, and virtually none of these people have Covid:

Here they are back in 2020:

Do they look free to you?

yeah their strategy I've been on board with it, but am starting to wonder now, its effecting people across the country - small business owners, people like Dan etc. When if your'e healthy the chance it effects you is minimized. Myself I'm lucky to have a job where I can work from home, but it is becoming fn boring like groundhog day everyday.

I’m in the UK, we’re not much better with our no use politicians but the stuff especially from Oz is off the scale bonkers.

The first one reminds me of Woodstock 99, the second reminds me of Harry Potter. I’m not sure what to make of it.

I hope some scientists and epidemiologists jump in to this thread to learn a thing or two about their specialties from some Sherdoggers.
