Love how everyone is an expert on reffing here on Sherdog. He knows what to look for. Should the ref assumed that Sandhagens arm was broken and stopped it then too? Or did the ref know what he was looking at. C'mon people let refs ref and enjoy A GODDAMMN FIGHT

1. It's the refs first high level fight.
2. The other fighter and the announcers watching, the most critical of whom was also a fighter thought he was being incompetent.
3. People here have seen thousands of stoppages. That one was late.
4. Using caps definitely drove your point home there bud. It was indeed A FIGHT and people seem to have thoroughly enjoyed it. Doesn't put the ref above obviously deserved criticism.

Um...I think this referee was a breath of fresh air. Gave 2 fighters a chance, communicated with both. Mario would have ASSUMED the arm was broke and stopped it, instead we have a referee that knows what he is looking at and the fight turned into a great performance. He was doing a wonderful job. ULTIMATE FIGHTING....Do you need a definition? Wasnt early, wasnt late...the stoppage was just fine in my opinion. His head wasnt bouncing off the canvas 5 times unconscious before it was stopped, the fighter had plenty of time to improve position. When it was fetal position that was a rap.

Ref was great IMO.

Mario would have thought the arm was broke and called it. We wouldnt have seen such a great comeback. There will always be someone who thinks a fight is ended either to early, to late, or just in time. Its not an easy job, yet they do have the best seat in the house, they see a whole lot we dont. Fighters have a chance to tap to strikes if they want. The man wasnt unconscious. He got up right after it was stopped. He was fine. That ref was trained by Big John McCarthy , I am confident that he knows what he is looking for.
