I remember back over 10 years ago when I found out who kimbo was through a video posted on the forums. He was blowing up the forums to the point where people predicted he would be the ufc champ. Until this day, I followed Kimbo everywhere no matter how shitty his fights were he drew money. Its a little touching because of his connection with the sherdog members. Sherdog should do something in memory of him whether they call the wasteland the kimbo slice forum or something. I will miss him a lot. But one thing I can say about him is that he died doing what he loved and that's fighting.

The way I recall it, his signing was somewhat embarrassing for mma fans because of the "Let's sign a big name with one dimension to his skills because he has a YouTube following" thing.

And it went exactly as I figured.

That said, Kimbo was a humble, likeable guy who admitted straight out he was one dimensional and needed a lot of work.

Rest in peace Kevin.

Do we know COD yet?

I remember the first time I saw Kimbo it was him getting plastered by Sean Gannon in a fight in an MMA gym. Florian was going crazy.

Dude sounded like a great guy, everyone who dealt with him only had good things to day.

Real talk i was one of those snobby elitist fans that wanted him to fail at the start, but he grew on me. By every account ive seen he was a good family man, and came to scrap everytime he fought. It was hard to hate on the dude. R.I.P big fella.

And he also put the work in. He was never going to be great given his late start, but unlike Toney and some others who've dabbled in MMA, he worked his ass off to try to improve.

I liked him.
Expected him to be an ass, was pleasantly surprised to find him humble and willing to learn. I figured he wouldn't go far but enjoyed his good nature.
Shocking end, and so young.

I'm stunned I've yet to see a meme that says "The greatest fighter of all time died this week....and so did Ali."
