So how far do you follow this? Is Oscar hallworthy since he lost to Shane?

I don't think its ever worked the way you are saying. Losing doesn't keep you out of the hall.

Not saying that. He belongs in the Hall. Just not right now with the group of fighters currently eligible.

Yeah, he's not exactly in B-Hop's league, but beating Witter, Holt, Peterson, Abregu, Alexander, Casamayor, Pacquiao, JMM, Provodnikov, Vargas and Rios, losing only to Pacquiao, that's a solid resume.

At all? Or just the first year he's eligible?

I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't considered first ballot, but I think eventually he should get in there.

IMO, Mosley, Marquez and Hopkins are most deserving. For personal picks, I'd add Hatton and Calderon in there.

How are Tim and Juan both eligible for the first time this year? They retired a couple of years apart - and I thought your last fight had to be 5 years before the vote.

Nigel Benn was one of my favourite fighters at the time and I remember when this happened to him.

    https://www.upi.com/Archives/1989/0...ized-to-boxer-Nigel-Benn-after/6270079160068/

I used to get the paper and saw it. It was a photo of Benn with different hair on that they claimed was a photofit. It wasn't a shock that some fool tried a citizens arrest after seeing it, I guess everyone isn't a boxing fan. Benn injured his knuckle in the arrest attempt so it's fairly safe to assume what happened there. I can't find the photofit I suppose digitised copies of 1989 London papers aren't that easy to find.

Shame about his fight next month though, I have no real interest in seeing him at 55.

Shane Mosley? off name recognition, but Tim Bradley is above him

Bhop is the first ballot lock, second is Tim Bradley for sure.

Id say Bernard Hopkins, Tim Bradley and Marquez are the top 3 who will get in.

Mosley is just famous and a name, his biggest wins are tainted because he used roids against Oscar, remove that what does he have? Antonio Margarito thats his only signature win

Vargas and Mayorga but they were not prime when he fought them they were not even top competitors in the division it was just a fight to be made type deal.

He lost twice to Winky, Twice to Vernon, Pacquiao, Floyd, Canelo, Cotto, Anthony Mundine, David Avanesyan and a Draw with Sergio Mora.

Now if Shane beat Winky, Vernon and Cotto and even lost to Floyd, Pac and Canelo at the tail end of his career , id say he is a lock as a first ballot, but right now he is just known as a guy who fought them all and lost most of them.

He never unified the lightweight division for even two belts with any of the champs he only held the IBF and defended it

Go look at Shanes resume sure he fought a lot of the top guys but you gotta WIN to get in, you dont get in for fighting everyone and LOSING.

Tim Bradley has only one loss and that is manny pacquiao and a draw agaisnt Chaves

He basically beat everyone he has faced.
