Phil “CM Punk” Brooks is listed as the favorite over Floyd Mayweather if the two were to ever compete in an MMA bout. But should he be?

That was the question for MMAjunkie Radio’s new daily debate feature.

We polled MMAjunkie readers and MMAjunkie Radio listeners to see what they thought of former WWE superstar Punk (0-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) being listed as the -300 favorite over the +230 underdog Mayweather (50-0 boxing).

They’re both inexperienced in MMA, with Punk having just one UFC fight on his resume to Mayweather’s zero, but “Money” is the best at boxing. That has to count for something, doesn’t it? Why isn’t that enough for Mayweather to be the favorite?

I don't think the fight is official, but if it happens, I'm happy that TBE doesn't grant McTapper another big pay day.

CM Punk shouldn't be the betting favorite vs anyone, regardless of weight/gender/physical disabilities.

Punk is a naturally bigger guy and he's had a few years of actual MMA training. If it weren't for his abysmal showing in his only fight, he'd unquestionably be the favorite.

Of course, his abysmal showing in his only fight is what makes this an interesting question.

Floyd has been training mma in secret for the last two years because he wants to start an MMA promotion. Floyd would demolish CM Punk. He will hurt him badly.

Lol this ‘fight’ has nothing to do with Conor yet you bring him up. A testament to Conor’s greatness

As much as Floyd annoys me It’d be awesome to see him KO CM Junk

CM swings a bold open-palm strike toward the air somewhere in the vicinity of Floyd, and is promptly murdered by a left hand.

Almost wondering if bookies did this so people would pay money for bets on a fight that never happens. So free money

Floyd would run circles around him and piece him up, he's used to fighting 36 minute boxing matches, might be one of the best pure athletes in the UFC even at 40.

Let us be realistic here, Floyd has never been able to make the 154lb upper limit of boxing's super welterweight division, he doesn't cut any weight at all, he was fighting naturally without cutting weight in the 147lb division, the heaviest he has been for a fight is 152lb and he looked out of shape, he is a small guy and has already filled his frame at 40 years old. How the f*** is he going to face a guy that starts his cut at 200 pounds? the lowest Punk can go is 170lb and the highest Mayweather can go is a bloated 152, at this point Rousey/Mayweather has a bigger chance of happening, at least they can make the same weightclass.

That guy is a garbage athlete though, I honestly wouldn't even be surprised if floyd would be the physically stronger of the two if he bulked up to 165 or whatever

Floyd began his career a natural FLW and he isn't much bigger now, I think he'd lose too much speed at 165.

A much bigger and better grappler will be a favourite against the smaller rookie. Just go to a bjj gym and roll with the average non-athletic blue belt that is 30lbs heavier than you and see how it works.

Floyd gonna be stopping takedowns/fights with the knees tho
He's a smart dude, he's gonna do his homework going into whatever fights he takes
