Cyborg is rallying fans together to fight in Brazil.

Is it though? Do we really need a confirmed PED abuser who's facial and body structure clearly changed over the course of her career, eerily similar to how female body builder's faces and body change? Is that we need right now to get WMMA to the next level?

I see a few people talk about how her body has changed but they never show any pics, from what I see she has looked the same since I first started watching her fight in EliteXC back in 2008

145

She has came out and said she will never fight at 135
did she change her stance on a catchweight? I know Holm and her management team has expressed interest in a catchweight fight with Cyborg. I feel if Holm's legitimately interested it could happen at catchweight rather than Ronda wanting 135 or nothing. Either way, I'm glad Holly is open to challenging herself against a dangerous, larger opponent unlike her predecessor.

Can't believe how stubborn she is about losing some muscle. Surely she makes a pittance in Invicta compared to what she would make as a top 5 UFC fighter. Not that they make huge money but it's definitely better than what Invicta must be caable of paying.

Cyborg lost all her bargaining power the second Ronda lost, she doesn't realise that without Ronda she's irrelevant.
I disagree. Ronda was persistent at that fight being at 135 and only 135 only. Holm has already expressed interest in a catchweight fight with Cyborg. Her management team allegedly approached Dana about it already. Hollys willingness to chase greater challengers greatly increases the possibility of the fight happening now that both parties want it in comparison to one. It won't be the huge payday a RR fight would've been but I think there's a real possibility of this fight happening.

If it happens it won't be until Ronda says definitively that she isn't coming back, but still Cyborg won't get half the attention that she did when Ronda was still around.

Oh good, finally somthing original. Who cares about all that. The woman can fight and if she can come to an agreement and pass the tests then she can fight. You can hate all you like though if it helps you:)

Except that Cyborg's contract with the UFC stipulates that she MUST make the 135 lb weight class if she wants to fight in the UFC.

Also, the UFC wouldn't allow a catchweight bout between Rousey and Carano when Rousey was willing to do it. If they weren't going to allow it for that huge money fight, they sure as hell aren't going to do for Cyborg even though Holm is willing to do it.

Cyborg cuts more weight to make 145 than Conor. And she's a woman! She's absolutely huge as a woman. Dana should just make a 145lbs division. Or hell make a 145 to 199lb women's heavyweight division. That would he kinda cool. Get Gabi over.

The consensus on here for a time after Ronda lost to Holm, when we were crowing was - enjoy yourselves, WMMA is over.

As in Holm couldnt be put over.

What most dont realize is that commercials and exposure CREATE this 'charisma' that the masses eat up. People like me arent jealous of people's success, we just call it like we see it. Its the masses that automatically fall in love with whoever is being presented as the next big thing.

Those people were wrong about Holly. She has shown that female fighters can be classy, intelligent, and clinicallly exciting. She HAS gone over, and with little to no help from the pouty Zuffa Machine. She is popular in spite of lack of marketing. Her popularity will grow if she continues winning, just like Ronda's did, as she won. Eventually Zuffa will get over it and hype her up like all the rest.

You were wrong about Holly, and you're wrong to think that Cyborg wont go over. Women want to think a girl can beat up the guys? Look no fucking further. Shes professional, wellspoken and an absolutely fearless brawler. 'Theres never been a girl fighter like her' actually applies in her case.

If Holly gets past Meisha, and has he guts to go up, just like Conor is doing, we will have tactician vs beast, and hopefully a closely fought trilogy. Ronda never had her Joe Frazier, because she wilted at her first loss. Holly and Cyborg are the real deal and could push WMMA past the 'trash talk while trying to look hot' phase into the 'these are real fighters to be put in the annals of fight history' phase.

I thought WMMA would definitley continue when Ronda lost, but i was surprised about how much support and love Holm got. Ronda put in so much work that the sport can live without her and thats good. Holm seems more and more capable of keeping things going if she can keep winning.

Well, she certainly did get out there for exposure.

I have a feeling that women, in a general sense, are going to do more in front of the cameras. There are a ton more antisocial men in fighting, and in general.

There has to incentive for the UFC to allow the fight to be at above 145. Right now there isn't.
