Ok, so lets say you've been eating healthy in the last 2 weeks and lost all but the remaining 3-4 lbs the day of the weigh-ins.. (i know i should be eating healthy for longer than that lol, but cheetos r so hard to resist! lol) How long would it take you to sweat off the final 3-4 lbs?

I know i lose about 1/2 to 1 lb when i wake up in the morning, but lets say I still have 3-4 lbs to go that whole day, how long in a sauna would that take usually? Or a sweat suit and a brisk walk?

incase it matters, i walk around 155-157, 5'7, not too skinny, not fat. Weigh-in fri night. match is next day.

If this was same day weigh-ins i wouldn't even worry about it too much, but from what i've seen in other competitions, guys that are in the 140-150 wt class are sooo much bigger/stronger than me. I know i know technique is everything, but i don't have that either. lol

I lose about 2kg/hour if i don't go for a little run before, else closer to 3kg/hour

do the match , don't know about lbs lol

It varies man. Seriously just fucking sweat it out and find out for yourself. I have a digital scale I bring to my gym in a bag. When I cut I just go in the sauna then weigh myself after a while, if I need to cut more I go back in......it is real complicated as you can tell.

No one will be able to tell you how long it will take YOU to loose the water weight way to many variables.

I can seriously lose prob about 2-3 lbs peeing so much when I get nervous, but it shouldnt take you more than an hr.

No shit ofcourse i'll find out when i do it on friday, just planning ahead so i can get a rough idea and be better prepared. sheesh. And yes I know it varies, thats why my first question was "how long it takes YOU" to sweat off that amount.

Thanks outonball for the response, looks like just under 2 kgs should be what i'm lookin at. to skey91, I'll prob be using a sweat suit (is that what you were referring to?) n just walk around outside since its like 100+ degrees out here lol

Or just drive around in the car w/ the heater on blast.

honestly man if you can, dont eat or drink when you get up friday. go to a bjj class (my gym has classes during the day 12-2), put on a long sleeve shirt underneath the gi and do an hour long class and dont drink ANY water, you will drop the weight easily..

check out the diet forum FAQ on cutting weight, you are at the point where you will need to switch to distilled water I think. As far as dropping that much or should I say little weight just wear a sauna suit, sweats, drive around with the heater for about an hour on the day of the weigh ins. You will probably make it, check before the weigh ins someplace with a reliable scale, if you are still a little over do something like like jogging, stationary biking or jump rope for about 10 to 15 minutes but don't push yourself too hard you don't want to be dead for the fight the next day.

You would be suprised how well this works TS

I'm a believer now! haha But yea, incase someone does a search and stumble on my post, here is my experience:

Woke up day of weigh-in @ around 155.5. Had a few sips of water, and half a granola bar and one slice of wheat bread all day... did a number 2 and multiple number 1's before lunch and i went down to around 153.5 roughly? (number 2 was HUUUGE lol)

Drove to the weigh-in's at around 5 with layers of clothing and a trash bag inside (prob for about 30-40 mins or so?) and when i weighed in, i was @ 149.6 fully clothed. Drank pedialite, gatorade and tons of water and ate a nice big dinner and gained back to 155 in no time that night.

On a sidenote, there weren't too many competitors so they ended up combining everyone below 160. LOL
