Honestly, how dangerous is this? I have a fight in 2 weeks and I'm looking at having to cut 20 pounds of water weight to weigh in. Any responses or advice as to how to do this are appreciated, but I'd especially appreciate advice from those who HAVE cut weight. I cut 13 for my first fight and had no problems, but that extra 7 pounds is a lot. What do yo guys think?

Hey, I know what you are going through. Fought in Mass Destruction. I was told 185 and I had to cut 6 pounds in a week. For breakfast 1 can of tuna and a apple with 16oz of water and supper was the same. The night of the fight I was told 170. I found this out at 4pm, weighins were at 5pm. For a quick fix, suna suit and treadmill, for about 40 minutes. I was so messed up it was rough. Got to the weigh in's I was told a new fighter and the weight was again 185. Pounded a lot of water but was too messed up and got knock out 1st round.
To make the weight, stick to easily digested food ie. tuna and apples or bananas. Limit your water to 24oz the first week and 16 oz the next week. You will drop the weight. After weigh in's (is it same day or night before), use water or gataraide and eat a good meal. Also get a fruit salad heavy on the surup and use that. This is just one suggestion, I know others will run their keyboards, All I can say in one weeks notice I made weight and fought, didn't win but was there. Hope this works for you. It will be rough, also I found using caffine tablets helped, just a suggestion

yeah, but we're talking cutting 20 pounds of water and then figthing the next day.
