Here is my first custom ar, picked every part out and assembled almost all of it.

Total price with shipping of parts, ffl fee on stripped lower, pin and weld job etc was about $3500-3600.

Yeah I don't really know of ar's getting too much more expensive than(2800-2900 no aimpoint) that without acogs or some really nice glass. Well with the prices as of 2 months ago now I could probably sell for close to 5k. Some glass out there like Schmidt and Bender is worth more than my gun all together. Then there is like collector stuff like the magpul mpla lower which costs 3-4k for just the lower...

i would love to build my own AR or get an AK but being limited to 5 rounds makes it pointless. also i'm pretty sure AR style rifles are restricted here meaning it can go to the range and back home and that's it.

Awhile back I bought a folding ATI stock to put on my Remington .870 special purpose .12ga as well as a vertical from from GG & G. I then took the slug barrel off put an all purpose barrel on it (made by Mossberg) and put the heatshield on it. Yesterday I sprayed it with Rustoleum paint.
I bought the AR15 (Sig Sauer M400) about a year ago. It came with all black furniture which I wanted to go with a two tone so I bought a Magpul Str od green stock, Magpul od green moe foreend, od green Magpul enhanced trigger guard, od green never quit magwell grip, od green Viking Vtac sling, ergo grip, med Bcm charging handle, David Tubbs buffer spring, and Spike's tactical heavy tungsten buffer. I also bought a carry handle to put on it for now but have my eye on an ACOG for sometime in the future.

Yeah ubr. Nice, do you notice any difference with the tubbs spring? I wanted to get a spikes buffer but they always seem to be out when i look.

Actually I haven't had a chance to go out and shoot it since I've put the new spring and buffer in. The ground I go shooting at (dad bought 62.5 acres about 8 years ago) my dad, brother, and nephews go hunting so I'll be able to go out sometime after this weekend since this was the last weekend of deer hunting.

Also what is the optic on your last rifle with the match barrel and mega upper. 1-4x 1-8x???

^That Spikes is a smooth looking rig.

Accupoint 1-4 on the Mega. Green triangle, I like the glass but I'd rather have a traditional retical and it's too heavy. CM trigger is nice, much better than stock that I failed to smooth out. but I haven't tried any of the newer drop ins

Honestly don't know anyone who does any custom stuff, most guys I shoot with run off the shelf. Our state laws suck unless you get a pre-ban lower, which not many do.
