Culinary Union: Women Make Less Money than Men in the UFC

I've worked in alot of restaurants and know for a fact female chefs make considerably less than male chefs even when more talented and harder workers so they should shut the fuck up about that one.

They should Try cleaning out your own dirty closet before invading others.

ronda might be the highest paid at the moment

then you have meisha and pvz probably making well above average. rose and pvz have the potential to make serious bank. JJ is doing well obv. i think champs automatically get a ppv cut etc. if you look at the ratio of girls in the ufc and how many of them are doing well its a non issue. also, lets be honest. its fighting and they arent as good. they have their own division because they arent as good. nobody should be forced to pay as much or more to watch inferior fighters. this is sports and if you cant perform gtfo

equal pay in an office is completely different than pro sports

Lol Ronda might be the highest paid fighter in the sport and Tate also makes bank. You get paid what your worth and the other ladies simply aren't worth a lot in this sport as of right now.

This is funny, because I myself belong to the said union..Sports is very different from your average jobs..the union pays everyone the same..Gender is a non issue, i know females that work well and others don't. whether you go out of your way or you're a lazy piece of shit.

The only thing good about the union is individual benefits..

Pitting the genders against each other, huh? Nice try, Culinary Union. If it wasn't for them being the push, I'd be for their union movement. But a movement under CU is no better than no union under Zuffa. You're just serving a different master.

I'm pretty confident that any difference in pay has to do with how much they draw, not strictly speaking the fact that they are female. Really its no different for the men. Conor is a big draw and he gets paid more than any male fighter because of it. Ronda is a big draw and she gets paid more than anyone, men or women, because of it.

There is a lot of dishonesty on the part of the people who drag out this tired argument over and over. They always leave out the fact that women who make less are making different choices than the men who make more. And its really ironic that the same people who use this also support Obama who pays women in his administration significantly less than men.

lol @ the culinary union getting desperate.....

firstly what does that Union have Anything to say or do with women athletes? is there some function of that union Im not understanding? why are they commenting on it at all ((I understand there is a war going on with them and the casino's the fertitas own))
it seems like the iron workers union/guild is saying that they think female teachers are paid less than male ones or something of the sort...

by them coming out and saying this it also seems to me that they are playing their hand....their arguement is with the casinos the fertitas own....yes behind the scenes they are working against the UFC as an extension of that ((Zuffa in general)) but by them making a public statement like this thats directly aimed at the UFC....seems like they are exposing their pettiness and at the very least....probably good evidence for a case of corruption/harassment ((I dont know ins and outs of business laws but it strikes me that it has to be unethical on some level that powerful unions go after private businesses in ways well beyond what their original goal is

but do they make less than men with the same number of fights in the UFC?

That's probably the most relevant question. But it also sucks when a female fighter is on a main/co-main and makes minimum pay from the Reebok deal when the would have been making close to six figures for the placement pre uniform.

With higher positions in the union, i don't know how that works..per diem is all the same wage. Non union is a different animal..sure it's all based on experience obviously. There's 2 chefs where i work and they are shit. Both men. Probably overpaid too.

This could prove interesting...

The culinary Union has been trying to get at the UFC for over a decade, and i think they are figuring out that if the helped form a fighters Union, they would truly have the last laugh...

As much as you all hate the culinary Union, those of you wanting a fighters Union...well you don't need me to connect those dots.

So does Hollywood. Let's see them go after the movie industry.

This video is very relevant to this thread

I hope you all enjoy it as much as I have

1:30 - 1:55 is the best part imo

Its like comparing Mcgregors pay to a Female fighters with 1 fight in the ufc

This is where the sentence should have stopped.

Sorry too busy laughing at your poor as fuck math skills to concentrate on spelling. Please look up what an average is, look at your explination and hopefully you can see where your wrong.

These numbers aren't accurately representing the pay discrepency. They would need to compares the females on the roster to males with similar amounts of fights both in and out of the UFC and with similar records. I'm sure there is still some discrepency, but I bet it's a lot closer to that 82% figure, or higher. I like how they also gave a number excluding Rousey, but never did the same for the top paid male fighters.

Ultimately, the biggest reason for the gender pay gap here is that women haven't been fighting in the UFC that long.

More made up bullshit about the wage gap without taking in any of the reasons why (here's a hint, it's not the patriarchy) what's new?
