I found what seems like a really nice deal on ebay, how's the quality of their gear? Here's the link, as much as I hate to get more people bidding against me :)
Also, anyone know what sizes would be right? I'm around 5'11" and 185lbs.

Thanks,
Evan

(PS: These are going to be for training, mainly drills and light/medium sparring.)

I absolutely love their shin guards. I think their gloves are oversized though.

I might just order the shinguards instead then. What would you guys recommend for MMA gloves? Light/medium sparring and drills.

Thanks,
Evan

i like their singuards....gloves are nice too.....i have the red gloves though. and the training gloves for sparring...

I think they only make Large and XL. I'd definitely go with Large. I'm 6'0 175 and these fit good.

From the combat sports website) Available in regular (up to 140 lbs.), large (140 to 185 lbs.) and XL ( over 185 lbs.)

The ebay auction is only regular and XL though. Hopefully XL will be fine?

Probably...maybe even a safer choice than the Large. I didn't know the XLs were for 185+.

I think CSI quality is okay. I got a few items from CSI and the quality seems to be okay.
Nothing too special about it maybe just the price. I bought them when they're on sale.

I recommend checking out KOfightgear for shin guards. I love mine!

Pretty much everyone in my gym uses CSI gloves and shin pads. I've seen the neoprene rip on some of the shin pads, but the gloves work really well for training.

Those hybrid MMA gloves are garbage. I've owned 2 pair. Both tore between the fingers after only being used 8-10 times.

Unless you only plan on using them to shadowbox, I'd avoid those particular gloves.

I borrowed my buddies CSI shinguards to try out and I'm 180. The L is a little snug, but I have really big calves (17"+).

Hey, I got the guards off ebay, should be in in a few days. I got the XL, just got to measure my calves today though, and they're around 16inches? Should I be ok?

You'll be fine man. Looks at my previous post... all good.
