Watching it now on Netflix and it's amazing. What stands out to me is actually seem to be trying to hurt each other instead of, for example, throwing ridiculous looping punches to set up obvious counters like a lot of martial arts movies.

    Anyway great movie.

All these chicks can get it too Jade Fox included

Yuen Wo Ping's absence is the reason MATRIX is so much better than its successors by most accounts.

Was good but best ever? No.

    Best of its time certainly.

And I don't mean modern is better. I mean older movies despite limitations has some damn good fight scenes too

    Not even close imo.

I think even if you like the wire style sword fighting Hero was better.

No. Not a big fan of the wire-fu.

    Good movie though.

It definitely stands out as awkward and poorly done.

Funny because the biggest criticism Chinese audience had were the accents of the main actors who were not native Mandarin speakers.

I bet @Linguist can notice the nuances. If you've seen the movie please rate Yun Fat & Yeoh's mandarin accent.

Wire-fu is the CGI of martial art movies: There are pros and cons.

As a side note, before Parasite, this was the closest foreign movie to win a Oscar for best picture.
