This is my 2nd exhibition from the other day against a great respectable guy who trains at one of the best gyms around my area who also has 6 Amateur fights. My first exhibition was also against another guy from the same gym who has 7 amateur fights under his belt. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgqEddaeE9s I am 0-0 as an amateur with only 2 exhibitions under my belt, i have been training for roughly 3 months straight but my coach thinks i can hang in with the big boys so i am willing to do so, apparently he roughly has 20 pounds on me, criticism would be appreciated as i learn a lot from others opinions on what i should of done different etc. Im in the Red Gear and Gloves. Please critique on things i did well and things to work on!
25 lbs over , mma cage , 2 guys lounging on the floor .......good reason why unsanctioned fight promoters(?) should be sanctioned financially or criminally. You did ok but why u gotta say you've only been training for 3 months ? You do know that we can't fellate you over the Internet , right ?
You looked very sick. I was cracking up at the guy after the first round. Maybe keep your right hand up higher in exchanges, you ate a lot of left hooks.
Thanks buddy, but ya i was told if im going to keep that right hand like that i need to work with it more, usually i have it more towards my cheeks and my stance is more square since i like fighting in the inside more. But since he had such a good center of gravity and HIT HARD i tried keeping my distance and working the jab. I noticed i started getting sloppy with my footwork crossing my feet and walking, i started getting really tired since i was coming in with the flu and my throat was stuffed.
A few things I noticed right away. 1) Right hand kept too low. 2) Jab is too low. 3) Head movement is lacking. 4) Punches have little snap. 5) Range/distance needs work. 6) Reaction and counter punching is not where it should be. The good part is that you appear to be very relaxed which is something that comes with time & experience.
