Criminal Minds is just terrible.

For example, forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance Brennan from Bones is loosely based on real-life crime author Kathy Reichs. But while Reichs published her first book at 47, her fictional version has already written multiple best-selling novels by her early thirties, while also having time to complete a PhD, learn seven languages, become a skilled diver and expert shooter, and study three different forms of martial arts.

And in the world of TV, she's nothing special. Ziva David on NCIS is an espionage expert who knows nine languages and is a skilled pianist -- all at age 28. Her coworker, forensic specialist Abby Sciuto, is also in her late twenties, but has still somehow picked a PhD in chemistry, bachelor's degrees in sociology, criminology and psychology, and good knowledge of hacking and computer forensic science. FBI consultant Peter Bishop on Fringe speaks five languages, has had papers published in academic journals, and is an expert in chemistry, biology, medicine, computer programming, auto repair, and pretty much everything you can name, all before time has had a chance to ravage his boyish good looks

Lol. Wow. Is that real? I knew about the Criminal Minds genius guy but didn't realize there were many more shows that made people be practical super humans. I thought Luther was bad.

Yep, Batman is just as unrealistic as any other superpowered character.

It's my gf's favorite show and she tried to get me to watch it with her. I refuse.

She also tries to get me to watch the Bachelor with her and I tell her that show insults my intelligence.

Used to be a guilty pleasure of mine when i was married and the wife watched it. I mainly tuned in to see Paget Brewster. I love that woman. Whoever said Thomas Gibson sucks nailed it. I always hated his "all business all the time" gruff attitude. Looked like he was always pissed off.

I'm with some of the above posters. It was a guilty pleasure a few years back when NOTHING else was on tv. Don't care for it now. They ran out of ideas a few seasons ago. My problem with the show was how quickly they solved the identity of the killer. The FBI agents would have a rapid fire discussion in which they rattle off a bunch of facts that they would have no way of knowing that conclusively, that fast and BOOM: They have their killer. It's like they know nothing and then all of a sudden 20 seconds later they know everything. I like the older forensic shows where they piece it together realistically and actually have to do a lot of work to solve the case.

I find it hilarious that a show about psychopaths who rape and murder all these people on a weekly basis is considered acceptable entertainment, meanwhile swearing, sex and nudity is still a huge no no for network shows.

Mandy Patinkin even left Criminal Minds because he got sick of all the routine killing week in and week out.

CLIFFS:

- Shemar Moore is awful.

- Matthew Gray Gubler is too good.

- Penelope Garcia is annoying.

- The killer is always an idiot.

- Shemar Moore is awful.

- Shemar Moore just can't act.

- The show sucks.

- Shemar Moore is awful and can't act.

Haha. Gotta agree on how bad the acting can be. I don't mind the show in general, but my wife watches specifically for her man crush Moore.

I like the show but agree with all ur criticisms

I find the show unwatchable now, but I admit I did used to like it. Paget Brewster was my TV-wife.

Not up to date with the current season but Criminal Minds is tremendous. It follows the same formula every episode but that's what kind of show it is; stand alone episodes like early X-Files or Law & Order. If you want some drama with continuous story arcs and cliffhangers go watch a soap opera.

It's predictable and unrealistic but I like it, I think it's pretty entertaining.

entertaining at least.

it is in its 8th season and still had more viewers than breaking bad.

1. Luther is awesome.

2. Super-humans ruin things for me. I enjoyed the Millennium series of books, but there was this huge shadow over the books for me, that every time Lisbeth Salander was in trouble, Larsson would just write "Oh, by the way, she's also an expert in ________". By the end of the book, she's a billionaire master hacker mathematician chess wizard boxing prodigy ninja spy who survived getting shot in the head and being buried alive, and for some reason has photographic memory.

The books were entertaining enough, but that was a little much for me.

Never liked it.

I can't even be in the same room when it is on.

Never watched the show.Pretty sure my mom watches it though.

I never got into cop dramas but some people love them.

my gf is the reason i watch it. she loves this kinda crap. its entertaining enough. there was one episodes where they ran opening credits for the entire first half of the show. i thought it was a strange joke or something. like there were a couple commercial breaks and when the next scene started they were still running opening credits.

sometimes some of the guest actors are cool (robert englund was in one!). and some of the characters are okay. greg from darma and greg, reid the hipster braniac, the black guy who is basically there for muscle when they need to shoot someone. its stupid but its entertaining. its like sugar on top of sugar.

a lot of the times the conclusions they make to who the killer is makes no damn sense. they'll try to veil the nonsense of it with really quick convoluted dialogue and it always bugs me because i'll rewind it only to realize that no, the explanation really made no god damn sense.
