After putting together the lists of the First and Last picks from every TUF season, that has inspired me to make an ultimate TUF guide because honestly I wanted to know about fighters from seasons of the show and how they have done in their careers. I found it interesting, and a lot of others did too.
Note to mods: I know this ultimately belongs in the TUF subforum, but no one frequents that forum and honestly I wanted more feedback from users in the heavies instead of just the 15 people who frequent the TUF subforum. If you could hold off on moving it to there until after I get some feedback, I would certainly appreciate it.
I have decided to make a massive TUF spreadsheet sorted by each season, and each page will have one season with all of its fighters, and several categories. The feedback I am most looking for is what categories I should include in this guide.
I am already planning on having the following categories:
1) Coach Name
2) Pick Number - The fighters will be sorted by the order they were picked on the show, from first pick to last. Some seasons mixed the weight classes together and others picked separately by weight class, so I will try to sort accordingly.
3) Fighter Name
4) Weight Class
5) TUF Record
6) Placement in TUF - that is, did they lose in the elimination round, semifinals, etc, or did they win it all
7) MMA Record PRIOR to participating in TUF
8) UFC Record, including 0-0 for no UFC fights
9) Is the fighter still fighting in the UFC?
10) Did the fighter ever fight for a UFC title?
11) Did the fighter win a UFC title?
The MMA record for a fighter prior to participating in TUF will depend on what medium I will use to find the fights, whether it be Sherdog's Fight Finder, the mixedmartialarts.com fighter listing, whatever it is, it needs to be consistent and hopefully accurate. I am gravitating towards Fight Finder but could be persuaded to use another source if a better one is available.
Other categories I am considering and would like feedback with:
1) Home country/State, if in US
2) Method of winning TUF fights
3) Was the fighter injured during the show and forced to leave?
4) Fighter's Nickname
5) Are they fighting or did they fight for another major org (this may include Bellator, WEC, Strikeforce, WSOF....maybe even PRIDE? Did that happen? The final event was in 2007 so it's possible although I'm unaware of any TUF to PRIDE fighters)
Are there other categories you think would be good to include in this guide? Anything I've missed or would be interesting? This is a large undertaking but I'm looking forward to working on it, as I had fun working on the other two TUF projects.
