Of his 16 wins,

6 KO’s
2 subs
8 decisions

Dude has some really sick boxing in there. I loved every minute of the fight with Burgos who also has really good boxing and an insane ability to roll with punches, it just made for such a sick fight. Left hooks were what dropped Burgos after Emmett landed the right hand all night. Man imagine how crazy it would’ve been with a crowd.

Anyways, not sure how Emmett has more decisions in his career than KO’s.

How long has he been fighting at 145? He said it himself recently that he's come into his own and realized what his strengths are which I'm sure are aiding in him being third in knockdowns in the UFC since 2016.

Crazy that GSP has more finishes than decisions. But, people still make threads about it

I only recall one finish....

Chad Mendes started off as a decision machine before he also fell in love with his power.

Fanboy

He has more finishes than decisions, period.

And he has an active streak of winning 12 TITLE fights in a row, in 2 different divisions.

Are you sure you want this argument?

I've know Josh since he first turned Pro.. his standup wasn't there for a long time. He was a Wrestler with a solid jab that allowed him to close distance and shoot the double. Malot coming in has helped a lot, plus Josh has also gone with Cody to train with Mark Henry, and developed a nice standup skill set to compliment his wrestling.. him being at 145 helps a lot too.

mendes was the same way, then his striking improved.

both of em likely always had big power but eventually learned how to use it.

Emmet used to fight at 155 which is why he probably doesn’t have as many KOs. Seems like he has more KO power now that he’s at 145. Already excited to see him back in there. That fight last night was nuts, and Burgos is one of the toughest SOBs at 145! The way Burgos kept walking forward after eating power shots that would have KOed 90% of the division was just insane.

Poor form made 3 posts in this thread so far about GSP and not a single one about Emmett

I don’t recall how Emmett used to fight prior to his recent KO streaks. Maybe he used to rely more on wrestling or had a different striking style? I don’t think he was always at TAM either? He’s an example of a wrestler falling in love with his hands but in a good way. A lot of guys fall in love with KO power after KOing guys outside the top 10 and then think it will work against the best in the division. Emmett actually sets up his hooks and switches stances and stuff which makes him more than a wrassler with a right or left hand
