Crazy Horse monument in South Dakota.

Money.
'Crazy Horse' was Lakota. Why aren't the Lakota Indians raising the money? Who came up with the idea of building an Indian monument of that size? That is 'crazy'. It will never be completed. Where is the Geronimo monument?

Well, the jaw, nose, mouth & eyes are wrong. Should've outsourced the job to actual Indians.

...it would have been finished if they had gone with a 'Stone Mountain' design:

Gonna be cool as hell when it's done.

Don't know what they are using as a pictorial guide? No apparent pictures exist. Supposedly there's some doubt that (the pic posted in this thread) is actually him.

Cool dude. Much respect.

Thankfully the rock is seemingly brown. Cut that potential shitstorm off at the knees from the outset (after taking 50 years to build the thing).

You whitewashing motherfuckers... <45>

This was chiseled by Michelangelo (by hand) in about 2 years. One piece of marble. Michelangelo was 25 at the time. The Pietà - 1499:

Yes.
You can Google it for photos.

Neither one of those is Crazy Horse.
The top picture is claimed by a guy that owns a private museum and sells the pictures for $1 a piece. He would have no incentive to lie about it would he? Crazy Horse also had pretty big scar on his left cheek from getting shot by No Water, he stole No Water's wife.
The bottom one for sure isn't Crazy Horse because he only lived to 37 years old. It looks like He Dog.

Marble is waaaay softer than granite. I've cut marble before and it turned to sand right away

Well, opinions vary.

"Contextual historical and photographic evidence, and a detailed analysis of the debated image, overall appearance, facial features, clothing, medicine bundle, breast-plate, and accessories, provide convincing evidence that the tintype indeed portrays the face and full portrait of Crazy Horse. This identification has long been supported by affidavits and testimonies from within the Lakota community, foremost those of Mrs. Ellen Howard, Jake Herman, and Dewey Beard (aka Iron Hail), and more recently by Francis White Lance and others."

"About the Author: Francis White Lance (Wapaha Ska) is a member of the Oglala Lakota Sioux Tribe and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. A tribal historian, he holds an Honorary Doctor of Letters degree, and a Master’s of Theological Studies. Dr. White Lance is an associate instructor at Oglala Lakota College in Kyle, and serves as Cultural Coordinator and teacher at American Horse School in Allen. He has lectured extensively on Lakota history and culture, thought and philosophy. A descendant of chief Crazy Horse, he is the grandson of Daniel White Lance, a survivor of Wounded Knee. He is also the current leader of Crazy Horse’s Hoksi Hakata (Last Born Child) Warrior Society."

If you're going to use a book for reference, you should probably read it first.
