Couture says he thinks Ali Act should apply to MMA. I kind of agree with his points,

Do you think the Ali Act should be expanded to include MMA fighters?

I think it's a no brainer that the Ali Act be expanded to MMA. The similarities in the individual combative sports across the board, and the way the promoters deal with the athletes, is exactly why the Ali Act was formed. And to amend it a little bit and to expand it to mixed martial arts is, I think, a very simple thing to do.

So you see promoters acting in the same way in MMA as they did in boxing? One of the major motivations behind it was that promoters had all the leverage and were forcing boxers to sign extremely one-sided contracts.

This is the problem. The exact thing that went on in boxing, and the reason why the Ali Act was formed in boxing, is exactly what is going on and what has happened in mixed martial arts.

As much of this sport has grown and how much some of these promoters are making off these athletes, it's a travesty how far the balances of power has shifted in one direction.

Bro, we've been over this.

Dana's gotta have that fresh snow on his driveway bro.

I thought the Ali Act was already expanded to MMA by Conor McGregor.

For those who implement the Ali act in MMA, the risks and rewards are exponentially bigger, especially in an age of social media.

Conor, for example, talks the talk and walks the fucking walk. However if he were to get the Aldo treatment after talking mad shit, it will end as fast as it began.

The issue is you've got only one promoter right now. And fighters who have much to lose trying to fight against this promoter in getting an act instated.

Dana whites got 6 ferraris, hell I want just one

I don't see it ever happening. These fighters hate each other, call each other bums, etc. Perfect climate to keep them divided and not lobby congress for Ali act let alone unionize which Couture also talked about. Zuffa is smart enough to pay top draws enough not to complain or join and 95% are expendables.

I know its selfish but the last thing I want is for the fighters to have control and be able to cherry pick who they can fight, i.e. Mayweather. Thank you but no thank you....... MMA needs to stay as far away from boxing as it can get.

Lol "no brainer" maybe not the best choice of words for this.
