Could Tony take Khabib down?

The whole world is scared to go to the ground with Khabib, his offence & control is excellent. However he is always in the dominant position.

Could Tony surprise him by going for the takedown himself?

Most people think Tony's best chance is catching a crazy sub during a scramble, surely by instigating the takedown, this would make a submission more likely?

Khabib has been taken down before and Tony is a crazy motherfucker....

In the build up to their last scheduled match in an interview Tony said something like "Sambo guys are clueless off their back" or something along those lines. I think he'll probably try to get the fight there at some point.

Khabib was hitting all kinds of triangles from guard against Trujillo, not that he's known for his sub defense but it goes to show Khabib is rarely in an inferior position when the fight hits the ground.

The only way I see Khabib on bottom is if Tony stuns him with a really good strike. Khabib's base is just too good. Those Soviet hips just don't lie.

Khabib has looked decent off his back the limited times he was put there but I suppose it's better than the alternative of being on your back and having Khabib rain shots down on you while you try and scramble

If Tony wins I think cardio and toughness are going to be everything. Because I see him spending a whole lot of time on his back early
