Nay, Rousimar would get KOd in the first.

Talk to me about Hendricks lack of BJJ defense.

Easy? No. Most of Palhares's best work is done from top. It is unlikely that he would ever be able to play top game against Hendricks. Plus, if Hendricks decided to stand, Palhares isn't getting him down-- the thought is laughable.

Bear in mind that taking down and submitting "well-rounded grinders" is different from taking down and submitting an NCAA Champion who trains under Marc Laimon.

I give him some chance to catch a sub from the bottom if Hendricks wanted to wrestle him, though not much.

He always has a chance to rip apart any man's knee in his division. You can never count a guy with a weapon he's so proficient at like that.

Super late edit: ^out

Hard to go for leglocks from standing, if Hendricks was smart he'd utilize his far superior wrestling in defensive fashion and then knock Palhares the fuck out.

Cause Hendricks has looked so easy to submit in his MMA career..

Hard, not impossible.

And he isnt known as a big hitter either. Palhares has such good striking, Jonny would have use his mediocre wrestling, and then get subbed by the unbeatable BJJ of Harris.

Could he? Yes. Easily? Doubtful. He'd have to somehow get Diesel's back standing, which ain't gonna be easy to do. Or else land a magic scissor takedown. Hendricks would be ready.

The more I think about it, the more I think not. Plus Harris just folds when somone puts a little pressure on him with strikes. Which Hendricks is sort of, well, OK at.

I don't think he even gets a chance to go for it, if they ever fought. I think Hendricks keeps it standing and just beats him up.

who?

It was an impressive win. That said, Pierce had about the worst gameplan he could have employed considering their styles.

Right off the bat he's striking his way into a clinch with Rousimar.

I can't picture Hendricks fight I.Q being that poor if he fought Palhares.

the only example I can think of that move has ever worked. That's the million to one exception, not the rule.

Ask Alan Belcher how scary Paul Harris was once he couldn't secure a leg lock.
