I wonder if they will decide that knees are too dangerous and make it against the rules.

you know, I always have been concerned with how much damage, seriously that a knee can do, and now this happened.

What do you guys think?

Santos i guess?? Recover well!

After what????????
He's alluding to Cyborg being put out by a knee from MVP on Bellator last night. He just didn't say as much. I guess that would be the alluding part.

Wrong forum.

They better not! It is an effective weapon as we already know and it's is one of the risks you choose if you persuade MMA. That's like trying to ban submissions just because Mir snapped Big Nog's arm in half.

Knees are the most powerful strike a human can throw, I remember watching a documentary that said, muay thai fighters can generate up to 5000lbs of force, which enough to deadlift a car. So you can imagine the impact it would have on someones face.

edit : 5000 pounds of force does sound too much, I can't remember the exact figure. But it was crazy. I think it was maybe 3000 actually. Can't find the video.

I was thinking this too. I was thinking they'd make fighters wear knee pads but they could ban them entirely. Knees are the most dangerous weapon by far. Largest hardest bone that can generate the most force. Padding would disperse the energy and hardness so you would never get a fracture like that if they were padded.

Don't know if this would have mattered, but Cyborg shouldn't have been fighting so soon after getting his head pummeled 62 times by Saad Awad. Not a good look for Bellator.

I dont think so. Its the first time this has ever happened in the history of flying knees which is long, and glorious.

To me that's like saying: speed kills, so let's make the max speed at Formula1 30 MPH.
Unless most fighters ask for a bann on knees, there is no reason at all to bann em.
They all know what life they choose.

You really think milk is the culprit in this case??? Seriously??

Maybe lol, it was just a hard knee. But nutrition certainly helps in building the bones. Maybe if it was, Roy Nelson, or Mark Hunt's head that was kneed their skull might still be intact. Bone density is a real factor.

Its a one off injury......dude caught him flush
