Could he succeed is moderate/high levels of judo/wrestling competitions?

Could he do well at the top high school levels and medium collegiate levels?

His take downs and set ups are so sick and not to mention he is a beast of a man. I can't help but think he would do well at high levels of other grappling arts. You think a top 10-15 HS kid in his weight could be him in a wrestling match?

He would probably beat anyone at top high school levels as they are still young men and don't quite have the raw strength of a grown man (especially one built like Jacare.) Not only that but he's been practicing grappling for years before they even knew what wrestling was, so if you add up his time doing pure wrestling, it's still probably way more than theirs.

As far as medium college level, I'd love to see it. I think he could hold his own against college wrestlers up until the top 25% or so, then it would be a challenge.

Jacare seems to learn skills very quickly. He's already had remarkable improvements in his striking -- and I've heard that he'll look even better next fight. So, yes, I think he would do well in judo/wrestling if he committed himself to it.

He is kind of old for succeding in judo or wrestling, people need to realize that wrestling and judo are on a different level because they have been around longer and they have more funding and their training is more professionalized.

Maybe if he had been born in a judo or wrestling country and had picked it up young, as he is right now, i doubt he would even stand a chance against the current brazilian judo team in judo.

Wrestling, not a chance, he is not from wrestling country so i doubt he had professional wrestling coaching ever.

I really don't know but it would be cool to see. I can't imagine high school boys beating him in a wrestling match though. College yes.

Jacare is a Judo black belt. I'm pretty sure he got his BB in Judo before starting BJJ.

Anyways, he wouldn't do well against mid level wrestlers, IMO.

A judo black belt means absolutely nothing when it comes to competition in judo.

He could probably do well at the panamerican level if he dedicated at least a year training hard for judo specifically, but at the world stage, not even close.

No, he would not do very well. He doesnt have enough sport specific training in either one. BJJ is much to ingrained in him at this point to be able to adapt to such high level sports that require a very specific, very different type of skill and mentality. His Judo/wrestling is very good for submission grappling specific competitions, but its much different when your talking specific high level sports like Judo or wrestling.

I'd be very surprised if he could medal at the Pan ams for Judo.

I didn't mean to imply that I think he would do well in judo comp, regardless of his rank in Judo. Just mentioned it.
