A few weeks ago I was able to do 40-50 push ups in 1 minute and 1 and a half minutes. Now after working out for 4-5 weeks 3-4 times a week I can do 20-30 pushups in that same time. Is this weird?

no...depends how you've been lifting...

better pushup form, easier muscle activation, and increased bodyweight can all lead to this problem..

Engrish?

Are you training for the military or something?

Have you only been doing pushups? If yes, you have been doing way too many.

What were you doing for your workouts during those 4-5 weeks?

Could be many things. I doubt it was too many pushups though if you have only been doing them 3-4 times per week, unless you did literally thousands per day when you weren't used to it at all.

Maybe you put on weight, didn't sleep enough, changed your form a little, and trained less in those 3-4 weeks than you did previously. What other factors are there here?

did you do pushups in the mean time, while you were working out? or were you only doing pushups and then moved to lifting exclusively? if its the latter, i dont see this as a big problem..your muscles that push u up and down are strengthened specifically, and if you start working out and not doing pushups, you may not be maximizing those muscles the way you did before...this is an addition to things that have been mentioend before...

i have had the same thing happen to me...i used to always wake up and do 50 pushups, but when i started working out, i stopped doing them..when i stopped working out and went back to pushups, i was unable to do what i did before starting to work out, even though i was prob. stronger..

hope that helps

your probably just using way better form. as in chest to ground instead of half way down. other than that maybe your muscles are just sore.

If I want to make my ego feel great, I can do 45 push-ups only going half way down.

If I touch my chest to the ground, I can only do 30.
