Sorry guys this is reaching a bit but do you think Anderson could beat HWs? I know he can be most LHWs but how would he do against the heavies? I don't mean the Champ like Cain or contenders like Reem, Werdum or JDS but what about guys like Hunt, Roy, Mir, or Barry? I think he could do well against the lower top 10. Wbu guys?

I think Silva could beat anyone in the HW division. But the question is if he could beat Jones, thats the only fight that truly matters if there is gonna be a true number 1, pound for pound.

He's barely done anything at LHW yet. He's fought Bonnar coming off a long layoff, Forrest who is an easy style matchup for Silva (unless he goes for takedowns - which he didn't), and perennial low end journeyman James Irvin.

I'd like to see him beat some top LHW's before I state that he could win at HW. I don't think his power would translate as well as some people do at HW. I think most HW's could absorb his strikes, take him down, and Anderson would not be able to get up. Just my thoughts. Anderson is capable of pulling some crazy stuff though.

Overeem would be a horrible matchup for Silva at HW IMO. Too much size and strength.

I figured the same. Given his trouble with Sonnen and the size difference I was sure he couldnt/would have trouble with Cain/Cormier and given the Blackhouse thing he wouldn't fight JDS. But I feel Spider would do well against guys like Big Country, Hunt, Mir, War Machine, and Barry. I'm a huge Reem fan but idk if he could handle the power/knees of Alistair

yes, anderson can beat HWs, but he would have an extremely hard time against top 5 HW simply because of size and the wrestling skills that are brought by the HWs.
