Mayorga is just crazy and powerful enough to be a threat for a few rounds. I don't think he will be able to hang with Cotto after the first 5 rounds or so.

i feel bad for cotto. all he ever did was beat world class fighters for years then he got assulted by margacheato and the sacraficed by arum to pacquiao and now hes teetering on obscurity

Can't wait to watch it live. If the fight isn't over by the 6th Mayorga has no chance. However, I would not be surprised to see Cotto drawn into a fire fight and get dropped/cut. Very interesting fight.

I'm surprised that so many in this thread think this fight is going to be competitive. Cotto is currently -1200. I think Cotto is going to mop the floor with Mayorga. Mayorga is just fighting for paychecks now, he shouldn't even be fighting anymore. I know Cotto has had his own hard times with the Margacheato and Pacman fights, but he's still a quality fighter. I say Cotto by (T)KO in the 3rd or 4th.

Okay upon futher review I got to assume they're going for the zombie/crazy holloween kinda thing.I was hesitant to come to that conclusion at first because i thought Mayorga could've been that shot out. He doesn't really take care of himself.

This isn't a gimmie fight for Cotto by any means although he should be the deserved favourite. Mayorga may be a wild man but that wildness disguises the fact that he's difficult to look good against. If you remember a lot of people completely wrote off Mosley against Margarito on the basis that Mosley looked as bad as he did as Mayorga... and look what happened there.

Cotto should win this in a pretty exciting fight but with Mayorga's power, awkward wildness and machismo he's not a complete no-hoper. If Cotto gets drawn into a brawl and, even worse, sees his best punches not phase Mayorga while taking some good ones back, it's anyone's fight.
