Hey, long time reader first time poster here. I have tried to look this up on my own but couldnt find anything on it, I was wondering about cottage cheese. I know it has alot of protein in it but I wasnt sure how healthly it was. Any one have any knowledge on this

I have wondered the same thing. From an ingredients perspective the only strike against it is the sodium content, but I've wondered if there is something else that might make this a non-preferred food. I'm sure someone more knowledgable than me will contribute on this.

Solid source of casein protein. Eat it before you go to bed. It digests slower than whey.

Yes.

I eat half a cup every night with a little yogurt.

Get the low-fat stuff and you're good to go.

Also, if you don't like the lumpy-ness you can throw it in a blender and make it creamy.

yeah far as i know this is a universally approved food, especially for a late night snack because the carb content isnt too bad and the casein protein helps your muscles recover while you sleep... as a previous poster said, fat free if possible, otherwise 1% milkfat any higher and you start to cancel out the benefits with fat

cottage cheese is great source of casein protein i eat like 2 cups before bed

Try it on lettuce. Romaine heart + cottage cheese + turkey breast = good meal.
