Hey all. I'm back into training after injuries and surgery, and looking at losing some of the weight i gained over that period. I've noticed alot of stuff in the diet threads about Cottage Cheese, i don't think i've ever tried it... Reading the nutritional values it does sound good.

Just what do you have it with? Any meal ideas for it would be appreciated.

Cheers

I like it plain, but you can put a little cinnamon on it, or salt & pepper, or mix with fruit, or mix in your favorite protein powder, etc, etc.
Try it and figure out what you like.

i open the container and shovel that shit in. it's good on its own.

I just had some with Cinnamon and apples. It was pretty good that way. It's plain enough you could mix just about anything with it.

The 4% milkfat tastes 100x better than the fat free. I prefer the large curd. I eat a cup before bed. Some times I throw frozen blueberries or blackberries in it, but I usually eat it straight.

this. Plus I also go to a bulk food health store and get a bag of 1/3 sunflower seed, 1/3 flax seeds, and 1/3 sliced almonds. I add 1-2 tablespoons of it and sometimes add a little honey or agave nectar. I have it for breakfast sometimes and before bed most nights.

saw this thread and figured i'd chime in, as my name would suggest I would.

Not a bad idea with the seeds and almonds, gonna give that a shot..

Thanks for the advice all

it's good plain but sometimes i'll add honey or pepper to it.

I hate the fuckin texture of it I can't force myself to eat it, its like curdled milk.

Try throwing cottage cheese in a magic bullet or mini-food processor, adding protein powder, fruit, etc (pumpkin works really well). Makes an awesome pudding like desert. Sometimes I'll throw some gelatin in there, and leave it in the fridge overnight or for at least a few hours. You'll get a no-bake cheesecake like texture, depending on how much gelatin you use.

I eat it with a couple shakes of black pepper on it.
