Crime Costa Rica looks to El Salvador’s gang crackdown for path to stopping violence

My El Salvadorean friend is retiring over there. He says it's safe to go back home now and it's better than working til you die over here in the US.

El Salvador is so good at dealing with crime that if a journalist talks about thegangs still there they are sent to jail

They are as much free of crime as Cuba. And whoever talks about it without permission is going to the gulags!!!

You have to LOVE some banana republic...

As someone who has spent three years in Cuba, I can tell you that the crime rate is indeed very low, especially in comparison to every other Latin American country.
