Costa Philippou vs Hector Lombard

I think this would be an interesting fight to make. I'd like to see Lombard against a proven striker like Costa.

Thoughts?

It'd be alot like his shlemenko fight I think. Lombard would start getting tagged and start laying on Costa, that is if Costa doesn't gouge his eye first.

 

I would do Hector Lombard vs. Yushin Okami and Costa Philippou vs. Francis Carmont. I say build Costa up a little more (at least one more fight) before getting another top 10 guy.

 

Fight makes sense to me.

 

I'm not disagreeing with you guys that are saying Lombard would win, but I'd like to know why you think that.

From what I've seen, Lombard is most effective when his opponent stands right in front of him, flat-footed. Costa has good movement and is a pretty good boxer overall. It'd be interesting to see how Lombard deals with that.

 

We've seen it in the schlemko fight
