Was MYZ any good, or just a poor man's X-COM?

I didn't finish it because I got distracted with real life then when I had time again never wanted to go back to it. I almost never finish games, though, so that isn't really a poor reflection on it.

I thought it played really well and if you like XCOM you will almost certainly like it. The stealth and terrain mechanics were really good imo. It made positioning the highlight of the combat for me. The characters were pretty good.

Yeah, but I stopped caring about cinematic trailers a long time ago. I'll save judgement for after I see a few minutes of gameplay.

I couldn't even get into Xcom 2. Modded it up with some cool stuff. Don't know, it didn't click enough with me. And I loved Enemy Unknown/Within. Played that stuff to death.

I liked it but it felt like a watered down X-com.

Looks a lot like XCOM 2. And it's Epic exclusive? Hard pass.

I loved it. Much more about being stealthy and creating situations where you are picking off enemies. If you are able to kill an enemy in 1 turn with silenced weapons it doesn't alert the other enemies. The enemies are generally very tough in a straight up fight, especially in the beginning. There are more RPG elements. I really enjoyed it a lot.

    How is the map variety?

It's pretty good. It is post apocalypse, but you see a ton of different stuff. You freely move around the map like in Baulders gate then either stealth attack to enter combat or when spotted.
