Violence/Genocide: Do not condone violence or genocide on a person or group of people. You are free to attack a person or groups ideas but you are crossing the line when calling for violence. This will be heavily enforced in threads with breaking news involving victims.

Coronavirus not very megathread.

The masks are back in the bay area. It's a suggestion rather than being enforced, doesn't really change much for me being I have to at work, and if I'm in a bar or restaurant you take them off anyway. So really it's just in shops, and I don't do the grocery shopping often.

    Hope you're all doin okay!

Great lol. It always starts as a suggestion, then becomes mandated.

So they gave us our freedom back for about a month.

I was just about to get a gym membership again too. I’ve been working out of my garage for over a year. Guess it’s futile

I dropped them when I was in socal because very few people were wearing them because it was hot as balls. I was in two minds going to Safweay because I felt bad for the check out people who were stood up and wearing one but I guess that's their choice. They could unmask if they were vaccinated.

Over here masks are pretty much extinct.

According to the news though, we are part of the problem.

I think Texas was the first state to stop all restrictions.
Really beyond caring either way now. I've had fun with it buying movie and band masks, if I was told at work to drop them it would be nice but I'm not losing sleep over it.

My building finally dropped them. I went to the beach yesterday and didn't even bring one. I figured no one is going to bother me if I'm using the bathroom or buying a beer and they didn't.

It's easier for us, you don't have a handbag. I've always got a couple in my bag.

Really weird how it doesn't smell of cows anymore. November 2002 it really did, I've since been twice over July 4th and I haven't smelled it at all.

I'm in Oklahoma now, but, moot point. Oklahoma and Texas do most of the same stuff.

I had to wear a mask all day everyday for 16 months, so I'm happy I don't have to wear one anymore lol.

I usually just have a gaiter around my neck for the subway or any store that requires it but since I was driving to the beach and the building doesn't require it, I just left them home. It felt great.

Honestly, one of the best days of the year was going out for lunch with 8 people who, the majority of I had never seen their faces but we'd worked really closely together for months. That is what I look forward to when we can hopefully get rid of the sodding things at work. Actually seeing people, because I get mixed up with who's who not being able to see their faces.

    Sad to see.

Arkansas leads nation in COVID-19 case rate as vaccinations lag; study touts benefits of second shot: Live updates

"Arkansas continues to be the nation's top state for new cases per capita, and only 35% of the state's population is fully vaccinated, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The virus appears to be largely sparing vaccinated people from the most severe illness.

"Of all of our critically ill COVID positive patients at Baptist Health facilities, none have been fully vaccinated," said Stephanie Whitaker, chief nursing executive for Baptist Health, a major healthcare provider in the state.

The state's Department of Health said there are 240 COVID-19 patients in the state's ICUs and 118 on ventilators. Only 4% of the state's intensive care unit beds are available."
