the third world will go into some sort of depression and civil wars i think, their economies cannot handle the coming global recession blow

you will never see them play small bets, the Chinese gamblers will always max bet everything. Plus many of them are extremely rude they will hock loogies inside the casino on the carpet while gambling and smoking.

20 year old me who would smoke some blunts and hit the Chinese buffet even makes me shake my head in hindsight, lol.

Well there are slums around the world where shelter in place won';t have much benefit. Though Mexico is more like a second world country I believe one of the governors made a comment that the poor were immune to covid19.

Many countries don't have the money to treat the general public normally let alone during a pandemic.

I suspect the numbers are higher in the first world as they can afford more testing.

So do you have any fear of what this virus will do to some poor countries?

yep thats my point.

the virus kills a few people (its only a tiny number compared to global populations) but the economical damage will kill/damage WAY more people than it ever could.
 
Death toll is more than 700 already in the US and the number of cases is still increasing.

They officially report 80K infected when that number is what most major European countries have.
And China has about 18x the population of either France & Germany. That means in reality they probably have over 2 million cases, and easily 100-200K deaths. All those calculations don't even take into account that China is still largely a third world country in many provinces.

I might also add that they basically stopped reporting infected for the past week.

I mentioned that the municipality next to mine was hardest hit and really close.

Well, my borough is now number one, and that municipality is number two.

Two areas are particularly affected by the coronavirus, namely the Cote-des-Neiges - Notre-Dame-de-Grace borough with 161 infected people and the Cote-Saint-Luc municipality with 107 cases.

The Hasidic community is getting a lot of heat. Apparently there's a lot of traffic between Montreal and New York with that group, and a couple of weddings spread the virus like a rail gun.

I guarantee you they have people that have just died in their homes because they can't afford care.

They're having problems keeping the elderly in line and aren't afraid to call the police.

It has been almost a week since the Director of Public Health ordered the home confinement of RPP residents. It is obviously without gaiety of heart that these draconian measures have been applied by the personnel of each of our residences.

We know that these measures are extremely restrictive and difficult, but they are necessary for everyone's safety. Most of our residents understand and comply with the containment order. We thank them for that. However, some persist in not complying.

With this note, we are appealing to families and loved ones to help us convince our residents to comply with the containment order for their own safety and the safety of others. Please encourage our residents to comply with the Containment Order through your telephone calls and electronic exchanges.

Since March 29, the City of Montreal has asked its police officers to distribute violation tickets to non compliant residents who refuse to comply with Public Health directives.
Patrol officers will intensify their vigilance in neighbourhoods to ensure, among other things, compliance with isolation orders in RPAs and in the community. In the event of non-compliance, the police officers will have the authority to write an violation report and issue a ticket to a person or group of persons refusing to comply with the rules of confinement, or refusing to disperse.

We hope we don't have to involve the police. That is why we are once again appealing to everyone's judgment and cooperation.

However, for the safety of all, our recalcitrant residents and their families are now informed that any non-compliance with the order of confinement or physical distancing may result in the use of police forces.

Once again, we warmly thank the vast majority of our residents who collaborate in security by respecting the rules. They contribute to their health and that of the entire population.
The collaboration and patience of all is essential. We thank you for that.

They're also digging ditches for dead bodies in NY with the help of inmates.
