Yahoo Sports has some video on the fight build-up and part of it shows Cormier wresling at his training camp with this Russian guy that beat him in the 2004 Olympics. The guy may have been even shorter than Cormier. I would have rather seen him boxing one of the Klitchkos or fighing a tall K1 heavyweight in preparation for Jones. But if he is willing to fly a pure wrestler in from Russia and roll on the mat with him, he must be planning to take it to the ground and try and keep it there like he did with Henderson.

or maybe he knew Jones would see the video and think that also

The Olympic wrestler may be planning to take down his opponent?

This is groundbreaking stuff, TS. Don't leak it on Sherdog.

He should have brought in the Reem

Not to forget that the russian wrestler is around 260 and DC will probably feel like JJ's wrestling is not too strong, compared to the russian - if Jones tries to go for the wrestling.

This is by far the most intriguing post I've ever witnessed and viewed!

If his gameplan is too keep Jones down he's in for a long night. He might get Jones to the mat but it's not going to be for long periods of time. He's just going to tire himself out trying.

You'd rather see him focusing on the strenghts of Jones rather than his own is what you're saying?

Well, thank you so much for letting me know why you'd never make it in martial arts, now off you go.

The dude that beat him in 2014 also won like a 125kg world championship in 2014. And if hes even shorter than DC, and a better wrassler, he is going to have a lot of experience on shooting on taller lankier people, and the general consensus is that if DC wrestlefucks JBJ he wins, so if you can get someone that can help you and give you tips in your wrestling to ensure you get the TD, that probably is a lot more useful than some random HW Boxer who doesn't know shit about wrestling.

It's rare for a clumsy, run-on sentence to contain so much truth, but here we are.

Gatsalov just wrestled Dlagnev at Grapple at the Garden and weighed in at 220.

He looked bigger than 220 in the training footage

Ding ding ding. This is gonna be interesting to watch. Let's hope it's not entirely a wrestling match and we see someone get socked in the jaw hopefully
