A 19-month-old boy was sleeping in a Georgia home with his parents and three older sisters when police entered, looking for a suspect who sold meth to an undercover. Officers entered the home at 3am and threw a distraction stun grenade into the boy's crib, critically injuring the toddler, his parents say. The baby is now fighting for his life (50/50 chance) in a medically induced coma. The family, visiting from Wisconsin, was not associated with the crime, and the suspect was arrested at a different house.

"It blew open his face and his chest," the boy's mother, Alecia Phonesavanh, told the newspaper. "Everybody was asleep. It's not like anyone was trying to fight."

I hope the boy gets better fast.
Did the cops use correct protocol?
Will the parents get paid?

You know what would be a good punishment for those cops? A nice vacation, umm I mean "suspension with pay"

What an absolute horror to wake up to. Wishing the baby a full recovery.

Hope the kids recovers.

They threw it INTO the crib...wtf.

Also, everybody knows when you're undercover and someone sells you meth, you make the arrest then and there...

Hope the kids recovers and the parents go to jail for a long time.

The parents didn't do anything. They were apparently unassociated with the meth deal...visiting from out of town. Whoever they were visiting was the one involved, but he wasn't even there at the time.

We were following correct protocol.
We did nothing against established procedures.
There was a high threat level.
Please disperse.

Ok. I read it a he was the boy father but wasn't home at the time of the raid.

In war, there will be civilian casualties. Some of those civilian casualties will be babies and children. That is the way of war.

Oh, in case you haven't heard, in the US of A, we've been waging a War on Drugs.

Usually flash bangs are tossed from cover through a door. You can't see where exactly they are landing so it is highly unlikely they looked, aimed for the crib and tossed it in there.

This is one of the reasons I am not a fan of no knock warrants(which this sounds like). Huge chance of injury to all parties involved and very little benefit that outweighs the risk.

Set up proper surveillance with UC's, monitor the house and establish a pattern of life for who comes and goes on the house. Then stop the idiot you want to arrest away from the house and serve your warrant simultaneously without the need for a SWAT shit show.

Department should pay out for kids medical bills at the least and re-evaluate their warrant service protocols.

God damn. I don't know why every fucking drug bust has to be a fucking raid. Why are they raiding the house at 3 am? The Feds can't do raids between 10 pm and 6 am or is it 12 am? I am not joking on that doj policy either.

the fuck is wrong with people.
