Cops arrested after killing of 6yo autistic boy, guess their country

A police body camera recorded the father of a 6-year-old autistic boy with his hands up and posing no threat as police fired into his car, severely wounding the motorist and killing his son, the man's lawyer said Monday.

"This was not a threatening situation for the police," said Mark Jeansonne, an attorney for Chris Few, who remained hospitalized and could not attend Monday's funeral of his son, Jeremy Mardis.

Derrick Stafford, 32, of Mansura, and Norris Greenhouse Jr., 23, of Marksville, were ordered held on $1 million bonds Monday on second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder charges, Jeansonne said.

The lawyer said he hasn't seen the video himself, but its contents were described during the hearing. Louisiana's state police chief, Col. Mike Edmonson, said Friday that "it's the most disturbing thing I've seen — and I will leave it at that."

Few's condition was improving Monday, but he had not been told as of midday that his son is dead, Jeansonne said. His stepfather, Morris German, said last week that Few had bullet fragments in his brain and lung.

Greenhouse is the son of a top assistant prosecutor for District Attorney Charles A. Riddle, who recused himself from the case on Monday, calling it "not good for any of us." (AP)

hence the murder charge

6 year old kid went for the cops gun. He also had an incident in kindergarten where he refused to put the ball he was playing with away after lunch. About time someone taught that kid some respect. MESS WITH THE BULL, GET THE HORNS!!!!!!

In all seriousness, though, RIP you poor child. Hopefully awareness about your death will help stop police from indiscriminately murdering little children every chance they get.

That 6 yo should have not resisted arrest and should have listen to the cops.

if the kid was armed, maybe it would have stood a chance

if all kids are armed, then no-one will dare shoot at the kids

what do you consider "first world countries" do any of the countries in south america or africa count?

i think we need to start with what countries you are trying to compare to the US since you obviously dont mean "all over the world" because that is laughable

Good point. I'd rather the USA be compared with Europe and the industrialized nations of Asia. That seems like a better comparison (at least aspirationally) then, for instance Sudan, and Guatemala. I'd like to think we can do better than that.

May God give this kid a front row seat to all the best shows in Heaven.

Good to see the cops charged, for once.

Sick ass cops and criminals running around firing their guns off every fuckin day, but I'M supposed to walk around unarmed, and hope for the best? Yeah fuckin right, motherfucker.

What a senseless death... RIP to the poor little boy.

not cool man a 6yr old was murdered

Yeah I don't care for your posting style but I agree 100% a child's death isn't the place for sardonic humor

good chance this was over a woman, and they just made up the warrant part

Edmonson said state police were trying to figure out why the officers chased Few and what caused them to shoot. No firearms were found in Few's vehicle, he said.

Megan Dixon, Few's girlfriend, said they had been at a bar the night of the shooting. Both left separately after getting into an argument. Dixon said the chase began shortly after Few approached her while stopped at an intersection.

Dixon also said Few and Greenhouse recently had a confrontation. Greenhouse, a former high school classmate of Dixon's, had sent her several messages on Facebook and showed up at the home Dixon and Few shared.

"I told Chris and Chris confronted him about it and told him next time you come to my house I'm going to hurt you," Dixon said.

I read about this before they got arrested. Nice to see police being held accountable.

It's a strange case. The father led them on a chase and the cops said they were trying to serve a warrant, but nobody can find a warrant on the father. Very strange case.

I'm too lazy to gauge the outrage expressed at the OP politicizing a child's death. Anybody got their finger on the pulse of it wanna proffer something up? Tell me at least whether or not it was sufficient.

i hope the 2 cops get the death penalty. from what i read on other sites (including their chief talking about the body cam footage) its warranted

i didnt get politicization from the OP, just a dumb joke and an inability to use context clues.

This being the political forum and a thread title alluding to questionable jurisdictions? Hot-button issue of police committing legally-sanctioned murder? Plus the humor you're alluding to...

...juicy.

I'm surprised the cops where arrested and charged with murder without any video footage to counter their story (because we know witnesses don't count for shit).

Coming from me, it could easily have been recognized as a) an ironical use of the phrase and b) as transparent and blatant anti-americonservatism.

We need to call murder for what it is MURDER..

Regardless wwho does it or where it comes from..

There are literally thousands of videos showing this to be the case.

Like the guy on the ground who was being tased by the female police officer, completely incapacitated then she just opens fire into his back.. Why because he didn't put his hands behind his back fast enough..

Which IMO is hard to do when youre being tased.. What better way to rememdy that than shooting the person in their back when theyre on their face being electrocuted

That's straight up murder.

They were on a side job as marshals, whatever the hell that is, so not in an official capacity as local police.

Their boss was pretty quick and strong in condemning them, they're done.

Unless something really weird comes out the dad at least owns some moral blame, did the chase and had the kid in the front for some odd reason.

any riots yet? could be race motivated after all, right?

There is video, it hasn't been released though.

The video is why their boss put them in the bracelets

sorry for once the police dept was actually upfront and not complete pieces of shit about it. amazing how people dont get angry when the cops do the right thing

This is a much better example of illustrating police excessive force than a 6'5 400 lb thug who moments earlier was caught stealing from and assaulting a tiny, decrepit, feeble, elderly store owner. It's sad that there really is a huge police problem in this country but certain peoples turn everything into whatever fits their agenda and a lot of people ignore the real problem. There is no way any 6 year old could/should really possess a threat to a professionally trained cop. Cops should be paid more and require higher testing procedures to weed out all the power hungry, gym class hero, barrel rolling morons that dominate the police landscape.

GTFO with the guess their country shit. Bad shit happens all over the world and you shouldn't be trying to use a story that is this tragic and fucked up to fit your agenda of putting down a nation that you don't like. Especially being from Germany.
