Hi! how you guys control this position? When I have my opponents both legs trapped I feel I can control my opponent pretty effortlessly, but when I go For inside heel hook they sometimes get free, because I have to let go their far leg and they use that leg to kick my leg triangle to get free.
Do you prefer pinch your knees together or flare your knees and extend hips? This make me confuse because usually everyone say pinch knees together, but I watched video where Matt arroy said that flare knees and extend hips

Two points of control here are first grab the tendons of that near knee and pull that one down and in towards you- like externally rotate that knee; second get on your side- they really should have to sit up to kick free and escape. Getting on your side also makes subs easier on that far leg.

The leg I have reaping I'm laying on that side so all my weight is on that leg, and I squeeze the the thigh like a regular triangle.

Also sometimes you can grab the foot and hit a straight footlock, or a heel hook.

-the trapped knee should tilt toward the floor more or less at all times
- as a consequence, the trapped leg should be shelved on the side of your hip. If it isn't, then shrimp and get under it
-push the knee on the outside of your own triangle toward opponents rips. If it's on the ground and in between you and uke, that's a good thing for contorl
-if uke tries to build base, push your shin into the fold of his hip to disrupt

That's the main fight. The secondary fight is unraveling their futile leg triangle(which ideally they'll never get to form, but shit happens)

I've been playing with this position too and +1 to the other comments. Firas Zahabi has a video on this position, and it's helpful. Also, if you end up losing control, there are so many transitions to other positions. For example, if they try to come up, you use your non-reaping leg to build a base behind you and come up to the leg drag position to pass OR better yet, to re-fall back into the inverted heel hook.

I have watched that Firas heel hook video many times But I like that leg triangle more. I just came from the gym and drilled that transition, best result I got was when I extended my hips and flare my knees like Matt arroy shows.

When eddie cummings will make footlock dvd?
